Salbutamol Sulfate brand names: Ventolin, Salvent, Salmol, Airomir, Asmasal Clickhaler, and others.
We found no known interaction between Greek Sage and Salbutamol Sulfate in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Greek Sage and Salbutamol Sulfate
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Salbutamol Sulfate and Greek Sage in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Salbutamol Sulfate
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Salbutamol Sulfate is filed under 2 classifications — beta-adrenergic agonists, oral drugs. Greek Sage has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being hexobarbital (moderate) — and none of Salbutamol Sulfate’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Greek Sage Does Interact With Other Medications
Greek Sage has 1 moderate known drug interaction in our database — Salbutamol Sulfate isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

Questions About Greek Sage or Salbutamol Sulfate
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Greek Sage or Salbutamol Sulfate, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Black Tea (moderate), Caffeine (moderate), Cocoa (moderate) and Coffee (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 22 moderate · 9 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Salbutamol Sulfate page
“People who rely on salbutamol (Ventolin) to open their airways during asthma or COPD flares should give this list real attention, starting with its one major-rated interaction, activated charcoal. Charcoal, sold in detox and gut-cleanse products, can soak up many medicines and blunt their effect.”

About Greek Sage
What is Greek Sage?
- Sore throat and mouth irritation
- Digestive upset
- Memory and cognition support
- Antimicrobial purposes
- Flavoring and aromatherapy
Greek sage (Salvia fruticosa) is a Mediterranean herb traditionally used as a tea and flavoring, and popularly for sore throats and digestion. Solid human research on its health benefits is limited, so most uses are based on tradition or early lab studies. It is generally considered safe in food amounts, but talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated extracts or essential oils.
Salvia fruticosa · Lamiaceae · Leaves and essential oil · Tea, dried leaf, capsules, essential oil, extracts
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Greek Sage is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Greek Sage record says about it on its own.
Greek Sage: dosing
There is no official standardized dose of Greek sage. Traditional use is usually a cup of tea made from a small amount of dried leaf. For capsules, extracts, or essential oil products, follow the directions on the label, since the strength varies a lot between products.

About Albuterol
What Is Albuterol Used For?
Brand names: Ventolin, Salvent, Salmol, Airomir, Asmasal Clickhaler, Salamol Easi-Breathe, Ventmax SR, Volmax, Ventolin Syrup, Ventolin Injection, Ventolin Evohaler, Ventolin Accuhaler, Ventolin Nebules, Ventolin Respirator Solution, Salapin, Salamol, Easyhaler Salbutamol, Pulvinal Salbutamol, Salbutamol Cyclocaps, Salamol Steri-Neb
Albuterol relieves bronchospasm, which is tightening of the muscles around the airways. This happens in reversible obstructive airway disease such as asthma. Which use is approved depends on the product and the age group.
Albuterol inhalers and inhalation powders (including ProAir Digihaler, ProAir RespiClick and Ventolin HFA) are used to treat or prevent bronchospasm. They are also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm. Both uses are for ages 4 and older. Albuterol inhalation solution (for a nebulizer) and albuterol tablets and syrup are labeled for relief of bronchospasm, with different minimum ages by product.
