Inosine + Buspirone
Buspirone brand name: BuSpar.
We found no known interaction between Inosine and Buspirone in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Inosine and Buspirone
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Buspirone and Inosine in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Buspirone
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Buspirone is filed under 5 classifications — including serotonergic drugs, serotonergic drugs, cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates. Inosine has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being antigout drugs (moderate) — and none of Buspirone’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Buspirone page
“I counsel genuine caution when supplements meet buspirone (BuSpar), the anxiety medication, because four of its 155 documented interactions are rated major. The bulk of the list, 121 ingredients, changes how your liver clears buspirone through the CYP3A4 enzyme, pushing its level up toward dizziness and drowsiness or down until the anx…”

About Inosine
What is Inosine?
- Athletic performance and energy
- Multiple sclerosis (raising uric acid)
- Parkinson's disease (raising uric acid)
- General health and recovery
Inosine is a nucleoside (a building block of DNA and RNA) that the body makes on its own and is also sold as a supplement, mostly marketed for athletic performance. Solid evidence that it boosts exercise performance is lacking, and because it raises uric acid levels, it may pose risks for people with gout or kidney problems. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
Not applicable; inosine is a naturally occurring compound (a nucleoside), not a plant part · Capsules, tablets, powder
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Inosine is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Inosine record says about it on its own.
Inosine: dosing
There is no well-established, standardized dose of inosine. Amounts used in studies have varied, and there is no proven safe or effective dose for general use.If you choose to use an inosine product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed the recommended amount. Do not assume that taking more will give better results.

About Buspirone
What Is Buspirone Used For?
Brand name: BuSpar
Buspirone tablets and capsules are used to manage anxiety disorders or to relieve anxiety symptoms in the short term. Its effectiveness has been shown in clinical trials focused on Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) — a condition marked by persistent, hard-to-control worry along with physical symptoms like muscle tension, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, and sleep problems.
Buspirone has also been shown to relieve anxiety in people who have mild depressive symptoms alongside their anxiety. Everyday stress and tension, on their own, generally do not require treatment with a medicine like buspirone.
