Drug & supplement interaction

Mindfulness + Etodolac

Etodolac brand names: Lodine, Lodine XL, Ultradol, Etodolac.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Mindfulness and Etodolac in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Mindfulness and Etodolac

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Etodolac and Mindfulness in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Mindfulness alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Mindfulness at all — not against Etodolac, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Mindfulness is a practice rather than something you take. Ask your care team whether the type and intensity you plan to practice are appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Mindfulness safety at a glance

Mindfulness overall Generally safe Mindfulness is generally very safe for most people and has no swallowed dose or chemical risk.
Pregnancy Generally safe Mindfulness practices are generally considered safe during pregnancy and may help with stress.
Breastfeeding Generally safe There is no known risk to breastfeeding from practicing mindfulness.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Mindfulness and Etodolac May Share a Side Effect

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so practicing Mindfulness while taking the medicine can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do.

Reported for Mindfulness but not commonly for Etodolac: thoughts of self-harm.

Effects for Etodolac come from the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of its FDA label; effects for Mindfulness come from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record, quoted above. Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 5,959 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Etodolac that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Wording is matched across sources by our own clinical vocabulary, so treat this as a prompt to pay attention, not a diagnosis.

These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Mindfulness or Etodolac, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Etodolac page

“Etodolac (Lodine) is an NSAID for arthritis and other pain, and NSAIDs already stress the stomach lining and the kidneys, so the supplements on this page deserve more than a glance. Five of the 52 entries are rated major, and those five are where I would start reading.”

About Mindfulness

What is Mindfulness?

  • Stress reduction
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Chronic pain
  • Sleep problems
  • Improving focus and emotional well-being

Mindfulness is a mind-body practice—not a pill or herb—that involves paying attention to the present moment without judgment. Research suggests it can modestly help with stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain for many people, and it is generally very safe. It is best used alongside, not in place of, care from your doctor or pharmacist.

Not applicable (mind-body practice) · Guided meditation, breathing exercises, body scans, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) programs, apps, classes

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Mindfulness is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Mindfulness record says about it on its own.

Mindfulness: dosing

There is no standardized "dose" for mindfulness. Many structured programs, such as MBSR, run for about eight weeks with daily home practice, but you do not need a formal program to benefit.A common starting point is a few minutes of practice per day, gradually building up as it feels comfortable. Even short, regular sessions can help.

Do Mindfulness and Etodolac have any of the same side effects?
Yes — our sources link each of them separately to one of the same effects. That is not an interaction: neither changes how your body handles the other.
