Myofascial Release and Alprazolam

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Alprazolam and Myofascial Release in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Myofascial Release at all — not against Alprazolam, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Alprazolam’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Myofascial Release. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Alprazolam’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both. 4 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Dependence or withdrawal symptoms Worth acting on
  • Memory problems Worth acting on
  • Unsteadiness Worth acting on
  • Low mood Worth acting on
  • Trouble concentrating
  • A change in sex drive
  • Drowsiness
  • Constipation
  • Tiredness mentioned in 5.9% of FDA reports for Alprazolam
  • Nausea mentioned in 6.4% of FDA reports for Alprazolam

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Alprazolam. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 204,912 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Alprazolam that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Myofascial Release’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Myofascial Release side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Myofascial Release has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Alprazolam page

“Sedation stacking is the core danger with alprazolam (Xanax), a benzodiazepine for anxiety and panic, and this list deserves genuine care rather than a quick skim. Dozens of entries, alcohol chief among them, deepen its drowsiness and can slow breathing, while an even larger group changes how the body clears the drug through the CYP3A4…”

Where does our data come from?

Myofascial Release is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Myofascial Release reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 20, 2026. The Myofascial Release and Alprazolam records this page draws on were last updated June 20, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Myofascial Release

What is Myofascial Release?

  • Muscle tightness and pain
  • Back and neck pain
  • Limited range of motion
  • Fibromyalgia symptoms
  • Tension headaches
  • Sports recovery

Myofascial release is a hands-on (or self-applied) manual therapy that uses gentle, sustained pressure to ease muscle and connective tissue tightness. It is not a supplement or herb, and while many people find it helpful for muscle pain and stiffness, the scientific evidence is mixed and limited. It is generally low-risk when done properly, but talk to a doctor or physical therapist before starting, especially if you have a medical condition.

Not applicable (manual therapy technique) · Hands-on therapy, foam rolling, massage balls, instrument-assisted tools

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Myofascial Release is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Myofascial Release record says about it on its own.

Myofascial Release: dosing

Because myofascial release is a manual therapy and not a supplement, there is no standardized "dose" in milligrams or pills. Treatment plans vary based on your needs, your provider, and your condition. In professional settings, sessions may last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, and how often you go depends on your goals. For at-home self-release with a foam roller or ball, start gently and for short periods, and avoid rolling directly over joints, bones, or injured areas. Follow the guidance of a qualified physical therapist or provider, and check with a healthcare professional before starting a new routine.
