Rose Geranium Oil + Diazepam
Diazepam brand names: Valium, Valium injection, Diastat AcuDial, Valtoco.
We found no known interaction between Rose Geranium Oil and Diazepam in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Rose Geranium Oil and Diazepam
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Diazepam and Rose Geranium Oil in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Rose Geranium Oil at all — not against Diazepam, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

About Rose Geranium Oil
What is Rose Geranium Oil?
- Skin care and complexion
- Aromatherapy for stress and mood
- Insect and tick repellent
- Minor wound and skin soothing
- Fragrance
Rose geranium oil is an essential oil distilled from the leaves of Pelargonium graveolens, used mainly in aromatherapy, skincare, and as a natural fragrance. High-quality human evidence for medical benefits is limited, and like all essential oils it must be diluted before skin use and never swallowed. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have sensitive skin.
Pelargonium graveolens · Geraniaceae · Leaves and stems (steam-distilled essential oil) · Essential oil, diluted topical blends, aromatherapy products, soaps and skincare items
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Rose Geranium Oil is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Rose Geranium Oil record says about it on its own.
Rose Geranium Oil: dosing
There is no established standardized medical dose for rose geranium oil. It is used mainly topically (in diluted form) or by inhaling its scent, not by mouth. For skin use, essential oils are typically mixed at a low concentration in a carrier oil, but you should follow the specific instructions on your product label.

About Diazepam
What Is Diazepam Used For?
Brand names: Valium, Valium injection, Diastat AcuDial, Valtoco
Diazepam treats several different problems, depending on the product. Oral diazepam (tablets such as Valium, and oral solution) is used for anxiety disorders, short-term relief of anxiety symptoms, and symptom relief in acute alcohol withdrawal. It is also used alongside other treatments for muscle spasm and, adjunctively, for convulsive disorders (seizure disorders).
Diazepam injection is used for the same anxiety and alcohol withdrawal uses. It is also used before endoscopic procedures, before surgery, and before cardioversion (when given intravenously). It helps with muscle spasm and tetanus, and with status epilepticus (a prolonged, dangerous seizure) as an add-on. Diazepam rectal gel and Valtoco nasal spray are used only for seizure clusters (acute repetitive seizures) in people with epilepsy ages 2 and older.

Diazepam Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Diazepam as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Rose Geranium Oil — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
