In vitro evidence suggests that shark cartilage might stimulate immune responses. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Cyltezo (adalimumab-adbm) is a biologic that calms an overactive immune system, which is exactly why it helps with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, or Crohn's disease. The concern here is that shark cartilage may do the opposite. In lab dish studies, it appeared to rev up immune activity, so in theory it could push against the work your medication is doing.

If that happened, you might notice your underlying condition not staying as well controlled, think more joint pain, stiffness, swelling, or skin flares. I want to be honest though: this is purely theoretical and has not been seen in real people. There's also little reason to take shark cartilage, since it hasn't proven helpful. Before adding it, please check with your doctor or pharmacist.
