Sonoma Diet and Bupropion

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Bupropion and Sonoma Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Sonoma Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Sonoma Diet at all — not against Bupropion, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Sonoma Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Sonoma Diet safety at a glance

Sonoma Diet overall Generally safe As a balanced whole-foods eating plan it is generally safe for most healthy adults.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

  • Mania or an unusually elevated mood Worth acting on
  • Thoughts of self-harm Worth acting on
  • Trouble swallowing Worth acting on

  • An irregular heartbeat Worth acting on

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Bupropion. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 152,137 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Bupropion that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Sonoma Diet’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Sonoma Diet side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Sonoma Diet has no side effects.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Bupropion

This page covers Sonoma Diet only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Bupropion page lists 46 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Adrafinil (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate), Artichoke (moderate) and Astaxanthin (moderate).

By severity: 1 major · 33 moderate · 12 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Bupropion page

“Bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban) deserves genuine care around supplements, and the entry to understand first is activated charcoal, the only major-rated interaction on this list. Charcoal and similar bulk products can soak up the drug in the gut and blunt its effect, so space them well apart from your dose.”

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Sonoma Diet is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Sonoma Diet reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Sonoma Diet and Bupropion records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Sonoma Diet

What is Sonoma Diet?

  • Weight loss
  • Heart health
  • Blood sugar control
  • Mediterranean-style eating
  • General healthy eating

The Sonoma Diet is not a supplement or herb — it is a Mediterranean-style eating plan that emphasizes whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats, vegetables, and portion control. It is generally considered a safe, balanced way to eat, but it is a food plan rather than a pill, so talk with your doctor or dietitian before making big dietary changes.

Eating plan (whole foods, meal plans, recipes, books)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Sonoma Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Sonoma Diet record says about it on its own.

Sonoma Diet: dosing

There is no "dose" for the Sonoma Diet because it is an eating plan, not a supplement. Instead, you follow the plan's guidance on food choices, portion sizes, and meal structure, often described in its books or official materials. If you want to follow it, a registered dietitian can help you tailor it to your calorie needs, health conditions, and preferences.
