Sonoma Diet and Felbamate

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Felbamate and Sonoma Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Sonoma Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Sonoma Diet at all — not against Felbamate, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Sonoma Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Felbamate page

“Felbamate (Felbatol) is a seizure medicine usually reserved for epilepsy that other drugs have failed to control, in part because it can stress the liver on its own. That history is why its 172 supplement and herbal interactions deserve real vigilance, starting with the 14 rated major.”

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Sonoma Diet is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Sonoma Diet reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Sonoma Diet and Felbamate records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Sonoma Diet

What is Sonoma Diet?

  • Weight loss
  • Heart health
  • Blood sugar control
  • Mediterranean-style eating
  • General healthy eating

The Sonoma Diet is not a supplement or herb — it is a Mediterranean-style eating plan that emphasizes whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats, vegetables, and portion control. It is generally considered a safe, balanced way to eat, but it is a food plan rather than a pill, so talk with your doctor or dietitian before making big dietary changes.

Eating plan (whole foods, meal plans, recipes, books)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Sonoma Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Sonoma Diet record says about it on its own.

Sonoma Diet: dosing

There is no "dose" for the Sonoma Diet because it is an eating plan, not a supplement. Instead, you follow the plan's guidance on food choices, portion sizes, and meal structure, often described in its books or official materials. If you want to follow it, a registered dietitian can help you tailor it to your calorie needs, health conditions, and preferences.

About Felbamate

What Is Felbamate Used For?

Brand name: Felbatol

Felbamate is not a first-line seizure medication. It is used only when a person's epilepsy has not responded well enough to other treatments and the seizures are severe enough that the serious risks of this drug are considered acceptable.

In adults, felbamate can be used alone or alongside other antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) to treat partial seizures (seizures that start in one part of the brain), with or without spreading to become a full seizure. In children, felbamate is used as an add-on treatment for both partial and generalized seizures linked to Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of childhood epilepsy. Felbatol is specifically labeled for these uses in both adults and children.
