We found no known interaction between South Beach Diet and Methyclothiazide in our sources. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
South Beach Diet and Methyclothiazide
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Methyclothiazide and South Beach Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on South Beach Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for South Beach Diet at all — not against Methyclothiazide, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
South Beach Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

About South Beach Diet
What is South Beach Diet?
- Weight loss
- Blood sugar control
- Reducing cravings for refined carbs
- Improving cholesterol and heart health
- General healthy eating
The South Beach Diet is a popular low-glycemic, higher-protein eating plan—not an herb or supplement. It can help some people lose weight and reduce refined-carb cravings, especially in the short term, but long-term success depends on sticking with healthy habits. Talk to your doctor or a dietitian before starting any restrictive diet, particularly if you have diabetes, kidney disease, or take medications.
Structured eating plan with three phases; books, prepackaged meals, and meal-delivery programs
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether South Beach Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our South Beach Diet record says about it on its own.
South Beach Diet: dosing
There is no "dose" because the South Beach Diet is an eating plan, not a pill or supplement. Instead, you follow the structure of its phases and food lists as described in the official books or program materials. If you choose a prepackaged meal version, follow the program's serving guidance.

About Methyclothiazide
What Is Methyclothiazide Used For?
Brand names: Enduron, Aquatensen
-
Methyclothiazide is used to treat high blood pressure. Methyclothiazide is also used to treat edema (fluid retention; excess fluid held in body tissues) caused by various medical problems, including heart, kidney, and liver disease and to treat edema caused by using certain medications including estrogen and corticosteroids. Methyclothiazide is in a class of medications called diuretics ('water pills'). It works by causing the kidneys to get rid of unneeded water and salt from the body into the urine.
-
High blood pressure is a common condition and when not treated, can cause damage to the brain, heart, blood vessels, kidneys and other parts of the body. Damage to these organs may cause heart disease, a heart attack, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, loss of vision, and other problems. In addition to taking medication, making lifestyle changes will also help to control your blood pressure. These changes include eating a diet that is low in fat and salt, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising at least 30 minutes most days, not smoking, and using alcohol in moderation.
