Threonine and Oxandrolone

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Oxandrolone and Threonine in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Oxandrolone

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Oxandrolone is filed under a single classification — oral drugs. Threonine has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being nmda antagonists (major) — and none of Oxandrolone’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Oxandrolone page

“Every supplement known to interact with oxandrolone (Oxandrin, Anavar) works the same basic way: it can change how much of the tablet actually reaches your bloodstream. About Threonine

What is Threonine?

  • General amino acid/protein support
  • Muscle and tissue health
  • Immune support
  • Nervous system support (as a precursor)
  • Liver health (proposed)

Threonine is an essential amino acid your body needs but cannot make, so you must get it from food or supplements. Most people get plenty from a normal diet, and high-quality evidence for taking it as a separate supplement is limited. If you are considering threonine supplements, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Amino acid (obtained from dietary protein or made synthetically) · Capsules, tablets, powder, and part of amino acid blends; also found in protein-rich foods

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Threonine is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Threonine record says about it on its own.

Threonine: dosing

There is no well-established standard supplement dose of threonine for general health. Studies that have used it for specific medical conditions used different amounts, and those doses were given under medical supervision. If you choose to use a threonine product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Oxandrolone

What Is Oxandrolone Used For?

Brand names: Oxandrin, Anavar

  • Oxandrolone is used with a diet program to cause weight gain in people who have lost too much weight due to surgery, injury, chronic (long-lasting) infections, trauma, or who are underweight for unknown reasons. Oxandrolone is also used to treat bone pain in people with osteoporosis (a condition in which the bones become thin and weak and break easily) and to prevent certain side effects in people who take corticosteroids (a group of medications used to treat many conditions that involve inflammation or swelling of part of the body) for a long time. Oxandrolone is in a class of medications called androgenic hormones. It works by increasing the amount of protein made by the body. This protein is used to build more muscle and increase body weight.
