Tormentil is a traditional herb whose root is rich in tannins and has long been used for diarrhea and as a mouth rinse for sore gums or throat. What Is Palivizumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Synagis

Synagis (palivizumab) is used to prevent serious lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV — not to treat an infection that has already started. It is given to high-risk babies and young children before and during RSV season.

Synagis is approved for infants born at 35 weeks gestation or earlier who are 6 months old or younger at the start of RSV season; children up to 24 months old with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD, a chronic lung condition) who needed medical treatment in the past 6 months; and children up to 24 months old with hemodynamically significant congenital heart disease (a heart defect that affects blood flow).
