Here's the simple version: xanthan gum is a soluble fiber that turns into a gel in your stomach. That gel can slow how fast things empty out of your stomach, and in theory it could change how much of an oral pill like Adagrasib (Krazati) gets absorbed. Adagrasib works on its own (it isn't a prodrug that needs activating), so the worry here is mainly about timing, not a chemical reaction.

Honestly, this is a theoretical, minor concern based on how fiber behaves, not on real reports with this cancer medicine. To play it safe, a good habit is to take your Adagrasib first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before any xanthan gum thickener or supplement. Since Adagrasib is an important therapy, please run your routine by your oncology pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

About Adagrasib

What Is Adagrasib Used For?

Brand name: Krazati

Krazati (adagrasib) is used to treat adults with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that carries a specific genetic change called a KRAS G12C mutation. It is used as a single agent for NSCLC after at least one prior treatment, and patients must be confirmed to have this mutation by an FDA-approved test.

Krazati is also used in combination with another drug called cetuximab to treat adults with KRAS G12C-mutated locally advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) who have already been treated with specific prior chemotherapy regimens. Both uses were approved under the FDA's accelerated approval program based on tumor response data, and continued approval may depend on results from confirmatory trials.
