Xanthan gum slows gastric emptying and has been used to control the release of drugs in tablet formulations. To avoid any alterations in drug absorption, xanthan gum should be taken 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's some good news that should put your mind at ease. The interaction on file is about xanthan gum's fiber gel possibly slowing how oral medicines are absorbed from the gut. But the Amphotericin B you're asking about is given as an injection or IV infusion, not a pill you swallow. Since it goes straight into your bloodstream and never has to be absorbed through your stomach or intestines, a gut-thickening fiber like xanthan gum really shouldn't affect it.

This concern was only theoretical to begin with, based on how fiber behaves, and it applies to swallowed tablets. If you ever use a thickener for swallowing trouble and take any oral medicines too, a simple tip is to separate them by 30 to 60 minutes. Still, check with your pharmacist or doctor to be sure.
