Molindone falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Xanthan Gum interacts with.

Theoretically, xanthan gum can alter the absorption of oral drugs due to its fiber qualities. Xanthan gum slows gastric emptying and has been used to control the release of drugs in tablet formulations. To avoid any alterations in drug absorption, xanthan gum should be taken 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's the gist with molindone (Moban) and xanthan gum. Xanthan gum is a soluble fiber that turns into a thick gel in your stomach and slows how fast things empty out of it. In theory, that gel could change how much molindone your body soaks up, possibly making it a little slower or less complete. This isn't a dangerous chemical clash, just a timing-and-absorption concern.

If absorption dips, molindone might not control your symptoms as well. The simple fix is spacing them out: take your molindone first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before any xanthan gum supplement. Keep in mind this is theoretical, based on how fiber behaves, not proven harm. Food-level amounts are unlikely to matter, but check with your pharmacist before using concentrated doses.
