Ribociclib Succinate falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Xanthan Gum interacts with.

Theoretically, xanthan gum can alter the absorption of oral drugs due to its fiber qualities. Xanthan gum slows gastric emptying and has been used to control the release of drugs in tablet formulations. To avoid any alterations in drug absorption, xanthan gum should be taken 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's the gist for your Kisqali (ribociclib). Xanthan gum is just a thick, gel-forming fiber. When you swallow it, that gel can slow how fast your stomach empties and could, in theory, change how much of a pill like ribociclib gets absorbed. This concern is purely theoretical and based on how fiber behaves, not on real cases with ribociclib, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Tiny amounts of xanthan gum in food are very unlikely to matter. If you're using larger, concentrated doses (for example to thicken liquids), a simple fix is to take your ribociclib first and wait 30 to 60 minutes before the xanthan gum. Since ribociclib is an important cancer medicine, please run any fiber product past your oncology pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

What Is Ribociclib Used For?

Brand name: Kisqali

Kisqali (ribociclib) tablets are used in adults with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. For early breast cancer (stage II or III, at high risk of coming back), Kisqali is given alongside an aromatase inhibitor as adjuvant treatment — meaning treatment after initial surgery to reduce the risk of the cancer returning.

For advanced or metastatic breast cancer (cancer that has spread), Kisqali is used in combination with either an aromatase inhibitor or fulvestrant — as the first hormonal treatment tried, or after the cancer has grown despite prior hormone therapy.
