Sucroferric Oxyhydroxide falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Xanthan Gum interacts with.

Theoretically, xanthan gum can alter the absorption of oral drugs due to its fiber qualities. Xanthan gum slows gastric emptying and has been used to control the release of drugs in tablet formulations. To avoid any alterations in drug absorption, xanthan gum should be taken 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Velphoro (sucroferric oxyhydroxide) is a phosphate binder. You take it with meals so it grabs onto phosphate in your food and carries it out in your stool, helping keep your phosphate levels down if you have kidney disease. It works right there in your gut, not by being absorbed into your bloodstream.

Here's the concern, and it's really a theoretical one based on how fiber behaves. Xanthan gum forms a thick gel and slows things down in your stomach and intestines. In that gel, it could physically get in the way and make Velphoro a little less efficient at trapping phosphate. Nothing dangerous, just possibly a weaker effect. To stay safe, separate them by taking xanthan gum 30 to 60 minutes after your Velphoro, and check with your pharmacist if you use xanthan gum regularly.
