Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains 3 active ingredients. Biotin is a B vitamin that supports hair, skin, and nail health and is likely effective for biotin deficiency.
Silicon is a mineral that may support bone health and has possibly effective evidence for osteoporosis. Choline (listed as ch-OSA) is a nutrient involved in cell function and brain health, though evidence for specific uses remains limited.
The product also contains several inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, purified water, hypromellose, and carrot concentrate — which serve as fillers, binders, and the capsule material.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Biotin is likely effective for treating biotin deficiency, but evidence is mixed or weak for hair loss, scalp conditions, and multiple sclerosis. Silicon has possibly effective evidence for osteoporosis support, though evidence for male-pattern baldness and dental health is insufficient.
Choline's effectiveness for athletic performance, cognitive decline, allergies, and Alzheimer's disease is not established in the data we hold — the evidence is either insufficient or it appears ineffective for athletic use. If you're taking this mainly for hair and nail health, biotin is the ingredient with the strongest backing, but that's specifically for deficiency rather than cosmetic improvement in people with normal biotin levels.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Biotin and choline are both likely safe during pregnancy and lactation in normal dietary and supplement amounts. Biotin is generally well tolerated even at fairly high doses because excess is removed in the urine; rare cases of mild diarrhea have been reported at very high doses.
Choline is also well tolerated at appropriate doses, but high-dose use — above 3.5 grams daily — can cause fishy body odor, gastrointestinal upset, nausea, and vomiting. Silicon is generally well tolerated from food and most supplements, but high-dose or long-term safety isn't well studied.
The product's dose levels appear to be supplement-range rather than high-dose, so adverse effects would be unlikely in most people.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
The only medication type with a documented interaction is atropine — choline may theoretically decrease its effects. If you take atropine or any anticholinergic medication, check with your pharmacist before starting this product.
For all other medications, no interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're looking to support hair and nail health with evidence-based ingredients, this product combines biotin — which has solid evidence for deficiency — with silicon and choline, both of which have limited evidence for cosmetic improvement. Before you start, check with your pharmacist about your exact medications, especially if you take atropine.
Biotin, silicon, and choline appear safe in the doses used here, and all three are likely safe in pregnancy and lactation — but talk with your doctor if you're pregnant, nursing, or taking high-dose supplements.

Advanced Hair + Nail Care by Biosil Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Biosil Advanced Hair + Nail Care contains three active ingredients, and only one of them — choline (listed as ch-OSA) — has documented interactions with medications.
The interaction involves atropine, an anticholinergic medication used for certain conditions and as an antidote to nerve agent exposure. Choline may theoretically decrease atropine's effects in the brain, though this is based on animal research and the clinical significance is unclear.
Altogether, these interactions span 16 individual medications.
