What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: African Mango dried seed liquid extract (from Irvingia gabonensis). The only other ingredient is menstruum, a solvent used to create the liquid form.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for African Mango isn't well established in the data we hold. The supplement has been studied for diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, and metabolic syndrome, but we don't have reliable evidence to rate whether it actually works for any of those uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
African Mango is generally well tolerated in short-term studies, though long-term safety and product quality aren't well established. The most common side effects reported are flatulence, headache, insomnia, and nausea.
One case of liver inflammation (hepatitis) was reported in someone taking 350 mg of the extract twice daily — his symptoms started four days after beginning the supplement. There's not enough safety data to use this product during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start, double-check if you take any antidiabetes drugs (a Moderate interaction — low blood sugar risk) or testosterone products (a Moderate interaction — possible additive effects). If you're on either, talk to your pharmacist before adding this supplement.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
African Mango might be worth considering if you're interested in its potential effects, but it's not for people taking diabetes medication or testosterone products without talking to their pharmacist first. The evidence for what it actually does isn't solid yet.
If you're pregnant, nursing, or have liver concerns, skip this one.

African Mango by Herbal Terra Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Herbal Terra African Mango is a single-ingredient liquid extract that interacts with two major drug categories.
The most serious concern is antidiabetes drugs — human research shows that African Mango can lower blood sugar in people already taking diabetes medication, which raises the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). If you're on any diabetes drug, you'll need to monitor your blood glucose closely and may need a dose adjustment.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
African Mango may also increase testosterone levels based on animal research, so if you're taking testosterone products, the two together might amplify each other's effects. The exact mechanism isn't clear yet, so caution is advised.
Altogether, these interactions span 93 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to search your exact prescriptions before you start this product.
