The evidence for Alpha-GPC is mixed. It's rated possibly effective for Alzheimer disease, meaning there's some research support but it's not conclusive.

More common minor side effects — reported rarely — include dizziness, headache, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and heartburn.
