What’s inside
Full disclosure
This is a straightforward single-ingredient product: 450 mg of bamboo per capsule. The capsule itself is made from gelatin and water.
Bamboo shoots have been eaten as food for centuries, particularly in Asian cuisine. In supplement form, you're getting a concentrated version of the plant material.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't have enough reliable evidence to rate whether bamboo works for preventing tooth decay (dental caries). The data we hold shows insufficient evidence for this use—so we can't say whether it helps or doesn't.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Here's what we know: properly cooked bamboo shoots are widely eaten and generally well tolerated as food. Raw shoots, though, can be toxic.
Because supplement safety isn't well studied, the safety data is limited. During pregnancy, avoid this concentrated form—there isn't enough safety data to say it's okay.
While breastfeeding, safety is unknown as well; avoid concentrated extracts unless your doctor clears it. Bamboo shoots contain cyanide glycosides, but boiling, fermentation, or steam drying removes the hydrogen cyanide that forms; contact dermatitis has been reported in at least one case when bamboo was applied to skin.

Moderate interaction found
If you take antithyroid drugs (Moderate severity interaction), check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product. Long-term use might increase both the effects and side effects of these medications, potentially leading to an underactive thyroid.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're looking for dental health support and have no thyroid condition or antithyroid medication, this is worth discussing with your dentist or doctor. If you take antithyroid drugs or have thyroid disease, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting—the interaction could be a real concern.
