Beet Root 1300 mg contains one active ingredient: beetroot powder at 1,300 mg per capsule. Beetroot is a concentrated form of the common food vegetable, supplying compounds called betanins (the red pigment) and nitrates that are believed to support exercise performance and blood flow.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — cellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate — which are fillers and binders that hold the supplement together.

The evidence on beetroot is mixed. It's rated possibly effective for athletic performance and exercise-induced muscle soreness (the pain you feel in muscles a day or two after a hard workout).
For other uses — chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), high cholesterol levels (dyslipidemia), and brain function (cognitive function) — the evidence we hold is either insufficient to say whether it works or suggests it may not be effective. Beetroot is widely eaten as a food and is generally well tolerated. Short-term use as a medicinal supplement also appears well tolerated in most adults.
However, concentrated supplements lack the long-term safety data that food does, so use caution if you're taking this regularly. Common side effects are harmless: red or black stools and red urine — the red color comes from the pigment and isn't dangerous.
Rare serious effects — low blood calcium (hypocalcemia) and kidney damage — have been reported only with very large amounts. One case involved a patient on blood thinners (apixaban and clopidogrel) who developed black stools after taking beet pills; the patient was evaluated and a serious bleed was ruled unlikely.
Because concentrated supplements lack full safety data, talk with your pharmacist before starting, especially if you have kidney disease or are on blood thinners.

Beetroot, Powder
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that betanin, the major pigment in beet, competitively inhibits CYP3A4 in a dose-dependent manner similarly to strong CYP3A4 inhibitor ketoconazole.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Beet and beetroot contain nitrates, which can cause vasodilation, potentially leading to lower blood pressure. However, a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition using concentrated beetroot juice found no significant impact on blood pressure or heart rate in different age groups. Other small clinical studies suggest that while beet consumption might transiently lower blood pressure due to vessel dilation, there's no consistent evidence of a lasting effect. Overall, the theoretical risk of reduced blood pressure due to beet's nitrate content exists, but studies generally indicate a low and temporary impact rather than a sustained decrease.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that beet induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
