Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: calcium D-glucarate 500 mg per capsule. Calcium D-glucarate is a naturally occurring compound found in some fruits and vegetables; the supplement form is derived from glucaric acid.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — gelatin, cellulose, water, and magnesium stearate — which serve as the capsule shell and binding agents.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence supporting calcium D-glucarate for breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer is insufficient to rate. Our data does not establish whether this supplement is effective for these or any other conditions at this time.
If you're considering it for a specific health goal, talk it over with your doctor about what the current research shows.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Calcium D-glucarate appears generally well tolerated in small studies, but long-term safety in humans hasn't been established, so we don't have a complete picture of how it might affect you over months or years. Calcium D-Glucarate 500 mg by Martin Avenue Pharmacy Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Calcium D-Glucarate by Martin Avenue Pharmacy has documented interactions with a group of medications and alcohol.
The most serious concern is with glucuronidated drugs — a broad category that includes many common medications. Calcium D-glucarate may speed up how your body clears these drugs by blocking an enzyme in your gut that normally helps reabsorb them, which could make those medications less effective.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Alcohol presents a Moderate interaction: drinking while taking this supplement may reduce how well calcium D-glucarate works. There's evidence that alcohol increases how quickly your body excretes calcium D-glucarate's active metabolite.
Calcium D-glucarate may also increase elimination of the antibiotic kanamycin (a Minor interaction), potentially lowering its levels in your bloodstream. Altogether, these interactions span 126 individual medications.
Before starting this product, check your exact medications — especially any drugs metabolized through glucuronidation — with the tool below or with your pharmacist or doctor.

For each ingredient in Calcium D-Glucarate 500 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Calcium D-Glucarate
Alcohol (Ethanol)
Theoretically, concomitant use with alcohol might decrease calcium D-glucarate activity.
There is some evidence that urinary excretion of calcium D-glucarate metabolites increases in people consuming alcohol.
Glucuronidated Drugs
Theoretically, calcium D-glucarate might increase the clearance of drugs that undergo glucuronidation.
The calcium D-glucarate metabolite, D-glucaro-1,4-lactone, inhibits the enzyme beta-glucuronidase, reducing deconjugation of glucuronides in the intestine and thereby reducing reabsorption of the drugs.
Kanamycin
Theoretically, calcium D-glucarate may reduce plasma levels of kanamycin.
Calcium D-glucarate may increase the rate of kanamycin elimination, which may decrease its clinical and adverse effects.
