Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS
Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine
Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine falls under GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS — the group Calcium D-glucarate interacts with.
The calcium D-glucarate metabolite, D-glucaro-1,4-lactone, inhibits the enzyme beta-glucuronidase, reducing deconjugation of glucuronides in the intestine and thereby reducing reabsorption of the drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here is the idea in plain terms. Your body tags certain medicines, including the acetaminophen and dihydrocodeine in this combo, with a molecule that helps wash them out in your stool. Calcium D-glucarate may block a gut enzyme (beta-glucuronidase) that would otherwise un-tag some of that drug and let it get reabsorbed. The theory is that less gets recycled, so a bit more is cleared from your body.
If anything, this could slightly weaken your pain relief, not boost it. But honestly, this is mostly lab and theory, not strong human proof, and food amounts in fruits and veggies are very unlikely to matter. If you take Panlor or DHC Plus for ongoing pain and want to try the supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine page
“Anything else that sedates you is the headline risk with this combination painkiller. Panlor and DHC Plus pair acetaminophen and caffeine with the opioid dihydrocodeine, and 78 of the 303 supplements on file, kava and even beer or wine among them, can deepen the opioid's drowsiness and, at the extreme, dangerously slow breathing.”

About Calcium D-glucarate
What is Calcium D-glucarate?
- Detoxification support
- Hormone balance
- Estrogen metabolism
- Liver support
- General wellness
Calcium D-glucarate is a supplement form of a natural compound found in fruits and vegetables that is promoted for 'detoxification' and helping the body clear excess hormones. Human evidence for these benefits is very limited, and most research comes from laboratory or animal studies. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a hormone-related condition.
