Can-Sol Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Pure Herbs
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Can-Sol against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Can-Sol by Pure Herbs
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Can-Sol contains three active ingredients in a liquid form. The main one is chaparral leaf extract, which has been used traditionally but carries documented safety risks.
It also includes purple loosestrife aerial parts extract and fragrant waterlily root extract, neither of which has established effectiveness data in our records. There are no inactive (filler) ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't have effectiveness ratings on file for chaparral leaf extract or purple loosestrife aerial parts extract. For fragrant waterlily root extract, the evidence is insufficient to rate it for back pain, burns, cough, wound healing, or pressure ulcers — meaning there isn't enough reliable data to say whether it works for these uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Chaparral is considered unsafe for oral use. It's been linked to serious liver damage — jaundice, fatigue, abdominal pain, dark urine, nausea, and diarrhea are early signs — and in severe cases has caused cirrhosis, acute hepatitis, and liver failure requiring transplant.
The safety data advises against using chaparral during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Purple loosestrife and fragrant waterlily root extract have very limited human safety data.
Fragrant waterlily used topically may cause skin reactions. There isn't enough information to recommend either during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and both are best avoided in those situations.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Can-Sol, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist about any medications you take that affect the liver (hepatotoxic drugs), since chaparral may compound that effect. Altogether, these interactions span 371 individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product contains chaparral, an ingredient with a history of serious liver and kidney toxicity. Even setting aside medication interactions, the safety concerns are substantial.
If you're considering this product, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first — they know your health history and can weigh whether any potential benefit outweighs the documented risks.

Can-Sol by Pure Herbs Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Can-Sol by Pure Herbs contains chaparral leaf extract, which does interact with a category of medications.
Chaparral may have additive harmful effects on the liver (hepatotoxicity) when used alongside drugs that are also toxic to the liver — this is a Moderate severity concern. The other two active ingredients in this product — purple loosestrife aerial parts extract and fragrant waterlily root extract — have no documented interactions in our data.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Although we've checked the ingredients we could, chaparral's interaction profile is narrow in our records. However, this product carries a more pressing safety concern that goes beyond drug interactions: chaparral itself is linked to serious liver and kidney damage.
Before considering any medications alongside this product, discuss both the supplement and your current drugs with your doctor or pharmacist.
