What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: caprylic acid, a fatty acid that occurs naturally in coconut oil and breast milk. The tablet also includes inactive ingredients—maltodextrin, glycerol monostearate, Methocel, silicon dioxide, and gelatin—that help form and deliver the caprylic acid.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence supporting caprylic acid for epilepsy and essential tremor is insufficient at this time. We don't have reliable data in our files to say whether this product works for these uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Caprylic acid is generally recognized as safe in food, but supplement doses are less well studied. Short-term use appears well tolerated, with mild abdominal discomfort and changes in taste perception reported most often.
A small number of users have experienced mild dizziness, headache, or fatigue. Because concentrated supplement safety isn't well established, talk with your doctor before starting this product.
Caprylic acid does occur naturally in breast milk, but the safety of concentrated supplements during breastfeeding is unknown—discuss use with your healthcare provider if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take warfarin (Coumadin) or other blood thinners—caprylic acid may raise their blood levels. Also double-check any blood pressure medications or NSAIDs like ibuprofen or naproxen you take regularly.

Caprylic Acid Timed Release 300 by LifeLink Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Caprylic Acid Timed Release 300 by LifeLink contains one active ingredient—caprylic acid—that has documented interactions with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners like warfarin (Coumadin). Lab research suggests that high doses of caprylic acid might displace warfarin from its protein binding sites in the blood, potentially raising warfarin levels and increasing bleeding risk.
This effect hasn't been seen in humans yet, but it's a theoretical risk worth taking seriously if you're on warfarin.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Caprylic acid may also interact with blood pressure medications (antihypertensives) and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or naproxen. With blood pressure drugs, the concern is that caprylic acid might lower blood pressure further, raising the risk of dizziness or fainting.
With NSAIDs, lab studies suggest caprylic acid might raise their levels in your blood, though this too hasn't been reported in people. Altogether, these interactions span 262 individual medications.
If you take any blood thinner, blood pressure medication, or NSAID regularly, use the medication checker on this page to see your specific drugs before starting this supplement. Your doctor or pharmacist can help you decide whether it's safe to combine.
