What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking CBD+ Vitality against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. HelloPharmacist Scorecard of CBD+ Vitality by HempWorx
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
CBD+ Vitality contains three active ingredients. Vitamin D supports bone health and calcium regulation — it's proven effective for conditions like rickets, osteomalacia, and hypoparathyroidism.
Broad-spectrum hemp extract is included, though the evidence for most of its purported uses (constipation, eczema, high cholesterol) isn't well established in our data. Dried yeast fermentate (also called brewer's yeast) may help with irritable bowel syndrome, though more reliable research is needed for other claimed benefits.
The softgel also contains inactive ingredients: medium-chain triglycerides, a softgel shell, beeswax, and sunflower lecithin, which serve as fillers and carriers.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Vitamin D in this product is effective for familial hypophosphatemia, osteomalacia, renal bone disease, and rickets — established uses backed by solid evidence. For the dried yeast fermentate, there's some indication it may be helpful for irritable bowel syndrome, though the evidence isn't robust.
The broad-spectrum hemp extract hasn't been shown to work reliably for constipation, eczema, or high cholesterol according to the evidence we hold — the rating is insufficient to say either way.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Vitamin D is generally well tolerated at recommended doses, but very high doses over time can cause toxicity with symptoms like high blood calcium, bone loss in adults, or slow growth in children. It's often used in pregnancy at normal amounts under a doctor's guidance, and generally acceptable while breastfeeding at recommended doses — ask your doctor before taking more.
The dried yeast fermentate is generally well tolerated in food amounts but can cause gas and isn't safe for people with weakened immune systems; rare cases of anaphylaxis and headaches have been reported. The broad-spectrum hemp extract is less studied in concentrated form than whole hemp foods, so caution is warranted — rare cases of anaphylaxis and allergy have been reported, and one case of liver inflammation in a child given very high doses.
Meds to double-check
Major interaction found
Check your medications against this product if you take monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), which carry the highest risk. Also double-check if you're on thiazide diuretics, heart medications (verapamil, diltiazem, digoxin), cholesterol drugs like atorvastatin, diabetes medications, blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs, ACE inhibitors, lithium, antifungals, hormone therapies, or any drug metabolized by CYP3A4 or CYP1A2 enzymes.
No interactions are documented for the hemp extract and yeast fermentate we could not check beyond those listed, but that absence is not a guarantee none exist.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Major medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is mainly useful if you need vitamin D for bone or calcium disorders. If you take any prescription medication — especially MAOIs, heart rhythm drugs, diabetes pills, blood thinners, or blood pressure meds — check with your pharmacist before starting.
The hemp and yeast fermentate components are less proven for specific health claims and are less studied at supplement doses. Talk to your pharmacist if you have questions about whether this fits your needs.

CBD+ Vitality by HempWorx Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
CBD+ Vitality by HempWorx contains three active ingredients, and together they interact with a substantial number of medications.
The most serious interaction we have on file is between the dried yeast fermentate and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) — a class of older antidepressants — which theoretically raises the risk of a dangerous spike in blood pressure (hypertensive crisis).
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Vitamin D accounts for most of the remaining interactions. High-dose vitamin D can raise blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia), which is a concern with thiazide diuretics (water pills), heart rhythm medications like verapamil and diltiazem, the heart medication digoxin, and vitamin D analogs like calcipotriene used for psoriasis — all Moderate severity.
Vitamin D may also reduce how well your body absorbs atorvastatin (a cholesterol drug) and could theoretically increase aluminum absorption in people with kidney failure. Additionally, vitamin D might speed up how your liver processes CYP3A4 substrates (a broad class of drugs), which could lower their effectiveness.
The dried yeast fermentate poses a Moderate-severity risk with diabetes medications, since it may lower blood sugar further, and a theoretical Moderate risk with lithium (depending on the yeast product's composition). It also carries Minor risk with antifungal drugs.
The broad-spectrum hemp extract carries Minor-severity theoretical risks with hormone therapies (estrogens), blood pressure medications, anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs, ACE inhibitors, and the same CYP3A4 and CYP1A2 enzyme systems.
Altogether, these interactions span 1,077 individual medications. Please use the medication checker on this page to review your exact prescriptions before starting this product.

For each ingredient in CBD+ Vitality with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Broad Spectrum Hemp extract
Estrogens
Theoretically, hemp might interfere with hormone therapy due to its estrogenic effects.
In an ovariectomized animal model, a diet containing hemp seed 1%, 2%, or 10% resulted in normalized plasma levels of 17-beta-estradiol. The mechanism of action for this effect is unclear.
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Theoretically, consuming hemp seed protein isolate with ACE inhibitors might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Hemp seed protein hydrolysate has shown ACE inhibitor-like effects in a hypertensive animal model. However, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans. Until more is known, monitor blood pressure and potassium levels.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, hemp seed might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In animal research, hemp seed at 5% of the diet inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. However, in human research, taking hemp seed oil 2 grams daily for 12 weeks does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets in vitro.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.
Vitamin D
Aluminum
Vitamin D might increase aluminum absorption and toxicity, but this has only been reported in people with renal failure.
The protein that transports calcium across the intestinal wall can also bind and transport aluminum. This protein is stimulated by vitamin D, which may therefore increase aluminum absorption. This mechanism may contribute to increased aluminum levels and toxicity in people with renal failure, when they take vitamin D and aluminum-containing phosphate binders chronically.
Atorvastatin (Lipitor)
Vitamin D might reduce absorption of atorvastatin.
A small, low-quality clinical study shows that taking vitamin D reduces levels of atorvastatin and its active metabolites by up to 55%. However, while atorvastatin levels decreased, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol levels did not substantially change. Atorvastatin is metabolized in the gut by CYP3A4 enzymes, and researchers theorized that vitamin D might induce CYP3A4, causing reduced levels of atorvastatin. However, this proposed mechanism was not specifically studied.
Calcipotriene (Dovonex)
Taking calcipotriene with vitamin D increases the risk for hypercalcemia.
Calcipotriene is a vitamin D analog used topically for psoriasis. It can be absorbed in sufficient amounts to cause systemic effects, including hypercalcemia. Theoretically, combining calcipotriene with vitamin D supplements might increase the risk of hypercalcemia.
Digoxin (Lanoxin)
Theoretically, hypercalcemia induced by high-dose vitamin D can increase the risk of arrhythmia from digoxin.
High doses of vitamin D can cause hypercalcemia. Hypercalcemia increases the risk of fatal cardiac arrhythmias with digoxin. Avoid vitamin D doses above the tolerable upper intake level (4000 IU daily for adults) and monitor serum calcium levels in people taking vitamin D and digoxin concurrently.
Diltiazem (Cardizem, Others)
Theoretically, hypercalcemia induced by high-dose vitamin D can reduce the therapeutic effects of diltiazem for arrhythmia.
High doses of vitamin D can cause hypercalcemia. Hypercalcemia can reduce the effectiveness of verapamil in atrial fibrillation. Theoretically this could also occur with diltiazem. Avoid vitamin D doses above the tolerable upper intake level (4000 IU daily for adults) and monitor serum calcium levels in people taking vitamin D and diltiazem concurrently.
Thiazide Diuretics
Theoretically, taking thiazide diuretics and high-dose vitamin D can increase the risk of hypercalcemia.
Thiazide diuretics decrease urinary calcium excretion, which could lead to hypercalcemia if vitamin D supplements are taken concurrently. This has been reported in people being treated with vitamin D for hypoparathyroidism, and also in elderly people with normal parathyroid function who were taking a thiazide, vitamin D, and calcium-containing antacids daily.
Verapamil (Calan, Others)
Hypercalcemia induced by high-dose vitamin D can reduce the therapeutic effects of verapamil for arrhythmia.
Hypercalcemia due to high doses of vitamin D can reduce the effectiveness of verapamil in atrial fibrillation. Avoid vitamin D doses above the tolerable upper intake level (4000 IU daily for adults) and monitor serum calcium levels in people taking vitamin D and verapamil concurrently.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Vitamin D might induce CYP3A4 enzymes and reduce the bioavailability of CYP3A4 substrates.
There is some concern that vitamin D might induce CYP3A4. In vitro research suggests that vitamin D induces CYP3A4 transcription. Additionally, observational research has found that increased UV light exposure and serum vitamin D levels are associated with decreased serum levels of CYP3A4 substrates such as tacrolimus and sirolimus, while no association between UV light exposure or vitamin D levels and levels of mycophenolic acid, a non-CYP3A4 substrate, was found. A small, low-quality clinical study shows that taking vitamin D reduces levels of the CYP3A4 substrate atorvastatin and its active metabolites by up to 55%; however, the clinical effects of atorvastatin were not reduced. While researchers theorized that vitamin D might induce CYP3A4, this proposed mechanism was not specifically studied.
dried Yeast Fermentate
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (Maois)
Theoretically, taking brewer's yeast with MAOIs might increase the risk of hypertension.
Brewer's yeast contains tyramine. Taking brewer's yeast with MAOIs might increase the risk for hypertensive crisis.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking brewer's yeast with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research shows that taking chromium-containing brewer's yeast can decrease levels of blood glucose in diabetic patients being treated with antidiabetes drugs.
Lithium
Theoretically, taking brewer's yeast with lithium might cause additive effects and side effects.
Some brewer's yeast products contains lithium.
Antifungals
Theoretically, taking antifungals with some brewer's yeast products might decrease the effectiveness of brewer's yeast.
Some brewer's yeast products contain live yeast. Therefore, simultaneously taking antifungals might kill a significant number of the organisms.
