Ceylon Cinnamon Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Ceylon Cinnamon against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: organic Ceylon Cinnamon, the dried bark from the Ceylon cinnamon tree. It comes in a capsule form with cellulose as an inactive ingredient (a common capsule material).
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for Ceylon cinnamon is mixed. For obesity and diabetes, the data shows it's possibly ineffective — meaning studies haven't found reliable benefit for weight loss or blood sugar control.
For allergic rhinitis (hay fever), common cold, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to say whether it works or not.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Ceylon cinnamon is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth, and serious side effects are uncommon. The most common complaints from people taking it are bloating, indigestion, and nausea.
Food amounts of cinnamon are safe, but supplement-strength doses haven't been as thoroughly studied — we'd recommend talking with your doctor or pharmacist before taking medicinal doses. One rare case report described internal bleeding in a patient taking cinnamon supplements long-term after surgery, though this is very uncommon.
A small number of people also reported itching or rashes when taking oral Ceylon cinnamon. If you're breastfeeding, food amounts are fine, but the safety of supplement doses isn't known, so check with us first.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check if you're on blood pressure medications (antihypertensive drugs) or diabetes drugs — both carry Moderate interaction risk. If you take either, your medication levels or your blood sugar could shift, and you may need monitoring or a dose change.
Run your exact medications through the checker on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Ceylon cinnamon may be worth considering if you're interested in it as a general wellness supplement, but the evidence for weight loss and blood sugar control is weak. If you take blood pressure or diabetes medications, you'll want to check with your pharmacist first — these are the key interactions to watch.
Talk to us before starting, especially if you're taking other drugs or breastfeeding.

Ceylon Cinnamon by Envy Nutrition Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ceylon Cinnamon by Envy Nutrition can interact with two important drug categories.
The most serious concern is with blood pressure medications (antihypertensive drugs), which carry a Moderate severity rating. Ceylon cinnamon may lower blood pressure on its own, and adding it to your blood pressure medication could push your pressure too low, causing dizziness or fainting.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The second Moderate interaction is with diabetes medications. Ceylon cinnamon may lower blood sugar levels, so combining it with your diabetes drug could cause your blood sugar to drop too far.
You might need a dose adjustment to your medication if you start taking this.
Altogether, these interactions span 258 individual medications. Before you add this product, check your exact medications — especially blood pressure pills and diabetes drugs — using the tool on this page.
