Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • “Choline Bitartrate” is listed as a grouped ingredient — the label gives one combined amount (650 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

This product contains one active ingredient: choline bitartrate, a form of choline — a nutrient your body uses to make acetylcholine, a chemical messenger in your brain and nervous system, and to maintain cell membranes. The inactive ingredients are cellulose, silica, magnesium stearate, and microcrystalline cellulose powder, which are fillers and binders that help form the capsule.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Choline product and its label doesn't state a use — see Choline's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence on choline for most conditions is not yet reliable enough to rate. The data we hold shows insufficient evidence for bronchitis, age-related cognitive decline, liver fat from total parenteral nutrition (TPN), hay fever, and Alzheimer disease.

For athletic performance, choline is rated possibly ineffective.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Choline from food is safe, but high-dose supplements come with limits and side effects. At doses above the daily upper limit of 3.5 grams, choline can cause a fishy body odor, and at much higher doses (9 grams or more daily) it may trigger diarrhea, nausea, sweating, salivation, and vomiting.

This product is 650 mg per capsule — well below those concerning thresholds at normal use. Choline is important during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but the data advises using only prenatal vitamins or supplement doses recommended by your doctor.

If you're pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant, talk with your healthcare provider about whether this dose is right for you.

Minor only

Only Minor-severity interactions are documented for these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Choline.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Minor.
  • For scale: 16 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take atropine or atropine-like medications, let your doctor or pharmacist know before starting this supplement — it may reduce how well atropine works. No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
