Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: choline DL-bitartrate, a form of choline — a nutrient your body uses to support brain health, liver function, and nerve signaling. The supplement is a powder with no other inactive ingredients listed.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Choline product and its label doesn't state a use — see Choline's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for choline DL-bitartrate is mixed and limited for most uses we have data on. For athletic performance, the evidence suggests it's probably not effective.

For age-related cognitive decline, Alzheimer disease, bronchitis, hay fever, liver support during IV nutrition, and a few other conditions, there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to know whether it works. Talk with your doctor about what you're hoping it will help with — they can advise whether this supplement is a reasonable choice for your situation.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Choline is well tolerated when used at normal dietary amounts. High-dose supplements can cause side effects.

The tolerable upper limit is set at 3.5 grams daily; doses above that — especially 9 grams or more — have caused diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, sweating, and a fishy body odor (from how your gut breaks down choline). During pregnancy and breastfeeding, choline is important for your baby's development, but the safety data advises using only doses recommended by your doctor — don't self-dose with supplements during these times without professional guidance.

Minor only

Only Minor-severity interactions are documented for these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Choline.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Minor.
  • For scale: 16 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take atropine or any anticholinergic medication (drugs that block acetylcholine), let your doctor or pharmacist know before taking this supplement — choline may reduce how well these drugs work. For your exact medications, use the interaction checker on this page.

Atropine

Theoretically, choline might decrease the effects of atropine in the brain.
