Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: choline L-bitartrate, a form of choline — an essential nutrient involved in brain function, cell membranes, and neurotransmitter production. Each serving delivers 600 mg of choline L-bitartrate.

The powder also contains silica as an inactive ingredient (a common anti-caking agent).

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Choline product and its label doesn't state a use — see Choline's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

Evidence for choline L-bitartrate is mixed and limited. For athletic performance, the data suggests it's possibly ineffective.

For other uses — including age-related cognitive decline, Alzheimer disease, bronchitis, allergic rhinitis, and liver fat buildup during parenteral nutrition — there isn't enough reliable evidence in our data to rate it. If you're considering choline for a specific condition, ask your pharmacist what the current research shows for your situation.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Choline is generally well tolerated at normal food intake levels, but high-dose supplements do carry an upper daily limit of 3.5 grams. At doses above that — particularly at 9 grams daily or higher — it can cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, salivation, and sweating.

Some people also experience a fishy body odor from choline metabolism. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, choline is important, but you should use it only under your doctor's guidance; prenatal vitamins are often the right source.

Minor only

Only Minor-severity interactions are documented for these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Choline.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Minor.
  • For scale: 16 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take atropine or any anticholinergic medication, check with your pharmacist before starting this supplement; choline may theoretically reduce its effects. No other interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.

Choline L-bitartrate is a single-ingredient supplement generally well tolerated within recommended doses. It's worth considering if your doctor recommends choline supplementation, but the evidence for most health claims isn't strong.

Before you start, check whether you take any anticholinergic or atropine-type medications — talk to your pharmacist first.
