What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q10 at 100 mg per softgel capsule. Coenzyme Q10 (also called CoQ10) is a naturally occurring compound your cells use to generate energy and protect themselves from damage.
The softgel also contains inactive ingredients: rice bran oil, gelatin, vegetable glycerin, and less than 2% of other ingredients that help form and preserve the capsule.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Coenzyme Q10 is likely effective for treating coenzyme Q10 deficiency. It's also possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure (heart failure), and diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage from diabetes).
For these conditions, the evidence suggests benefit, though more research would help clarify its role.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q10 is generally well tolerated by most adults when used as directed. In clinical studies, no serious adverse effects have been reported.
Gastrointestinal side effects — such as loss of appetite, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — are the most common reported, though they occur in less than 1% of patients. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have also been reported, and skin itching or allergic rash can occur rarely.
If you're taking doses above 100 mg daily, splitting them may help reduce stomach upset. There isn't enough reliable safety data during pregnancy, so it's best to avoid coenzyme Q10 unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Safety during breastfeeding has not been well studied — talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check before using if you take warfarin (a blood thinner) — coenzyme Q10 may reduce its effectiveness. Also flag any chemotherapy drugs, especially alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide, and any blood pressure medications.
Your pharmacist can verify your exact drugs using the tool on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Coenzyme Q10 is a good option if you have a documented deficiency or are exploring it for migraine, heart failure, fibromyalgia, or nerve damage from diabetes. If you take warfarin, any chemotherapy, or blood pressure medications, check with your pharmacist first.
The same goes if you're pregnant or breastfeeding — your doctor should weigh in.

Coenzyme Q10 100 mg by up&up Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Coenzyme Q10 by up&up can interact with several important medication types.
The most serious concern is with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner — coenzyme Q10 may act like vitamin K and reduce how well warfarin prevents clotting. Four cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness linked to coenzyme Q10 have been reported.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Coenzyme Q10 also has a Moderate interaction with chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (such as cyclophosphamide). Because coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant, it theoretically might shield tumor cells from the free radicals that these cancer drugs rely on to work.
There's also a Minor interaction with blood pressure medications. Some research suggests coenzyme Q10 can lower blood pressure, so taking it alongside antihypertensive drugs might add up to a bigger drop than intended.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. If you take warfarin, any chemotherapy, or blood pressure drugs, use the medication checker below before starting this product.

For each ingredient in Coenzyme Q10 100 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q-10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
