Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q10 at 200 mg per capsule. CoQ10 is a compound your body naturally produces and uses to generate energy in your cells.
The capsule itself is made from gelatin, rice flour, and vegetable stearate, which are inactive ingredients that help form and deliver the supplement.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
CoQ10 is likely effective for treating coenzyme Q10 deficiency itself. For other uses — fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure, and diabetic nerve pain — the evidence rates as possibly effective.
That means some research supports benefit, but we don't have enough solid data yet to call it proven. Talk with your doctor about whether it's worth trying for your specific condition.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Taken by mouth, CoQ10 is generally well tolerated. In clinical trials, no serious side effects were reported.
The most common mild complaints are gastrointestinal — things like nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, or loss of appetite — and these occur in fewer than 1% of people taking it. Headache, dizziness, and trouble sleeping have been reported rarely.
Dividing daily doses above 100 mg may help reduce stomach upset. There isn't enough safety data on CoQ10 during pregnancy to recommend it without doctor guidance — talk with your OB before taking it if you're pregnant.
Similarly, safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied, so check with your doctor before use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start, double-check if you take warfarin or other blood thinners (Moderate risk) — CoQ10 might reduce how well they work. Also flag any chemotherapy drugs, especially alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide (Moderate risk), and blood pressure medications (Minor risk).
The medication checker below will help you screen your full list.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 may be worth considering if you have a documented deficiency or want to explore it for heart health or migraines under your doctor's supervision. If you take warfarin, blood pressure medication, or chemotherapy, you need to check with us or your doctor first — the interactions are real.
Most people tolerate it well with minimal side effects.

Formula
Coenzyme Q10 is a fat-soluble, vitamin-like compound found in every cell of the boy. It's used by the mitochondria ("power plants") of cells to produce energy. CoQ10 is found in highest concentration in cells of organs that require large amounts of energy, such as the heart. CoQ10 also functions as a powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants help protect cells from free radical damage. Free radicals are harmful compounds generated during normal body processes, such as breathing and digestion, but also upon exposure to environmental influences such as UV sunlight and smoke. Free radicals attack healthy cells, damaging their membranes, DNA and other components, compromising normal cell function.

CoQ10 200 mg by Nova Nutritions Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Nova Nutritions' CoQ10 200 mg contains coenzyme Q10, which does interact with a number of medications.
The most serious documented concern is with blood thinners like warfarin (Coumadin). CoQ10 is chemically similar to vitamin K and may reduce how well warfarin works — four cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness linked to CoQ10 have been reported.
If you take warfarin, you'll want to discuss this with us before starting.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
CoQ10 may also interfere with certain cancer chemotherapy drugs, particularly alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide. Because CoQ10 has antioxidant properties, it could theoretically protect tumor cells from the free-radical damage these drugs are designed to cause.
You should not add this supplement without checking with your oncologist first.
Additionally, CoQ10 might lower blood pressure on its own. If you're already on blood pressure medication, the combination could push your numbers too low — though the evidence here is mixed and the risk is Minor.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to verify your exact prescriptions before you start.

For each ingredient in CoQ10 200 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
