Collagen Enhance Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by ResVitale
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Collagen Enhance against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Partial disclosure
Collagen Enhance contains 6 active ingredients. Hydrolyzed Collagen Type II is a breakdown product of collagen protein that may help skin aging and dryness.
Chondroitin Sulfate, a naturally occurring compound, is taken for joint health — the data shows possibly effective evidence for osteoarthritis and cataracts, though benefits are uncertain. Hyaluronic Acid is a moisture-binding molecule used to support skin and may help dry eyes.
Trans-Resveratrol is a plant compound found in grapes and wine that has possibly effective evidence for obesity and allergic rhinitis. The product also contains organic French whole Red Wine Grape and certified organic Muscadine whole Red Grape, both sources of polyphenols and anthocyanins.
Three additional ingredients — Wildcrafted Japanese Knotweed extract, BioCell Collagen, and Resveratrol Polyphenol Complex — are listed as blend or group containers, meaning their individual components are covered separately. Inactive ingredients include a vegetarian capsule, rice bran, and silica.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Evidence for this product's ingredients is mixed. Hydrolyzed Collagen Type II is possibly effective for aging skin and dry skin.
Chondroitin Sulfate is possibly effective for osteoarthritis and cataracts, though the data notes quality varies and benefit is uncertain. Hyaluronic Acid shows possibly effective evidence for dry eye.
Trans-Resveratrol is possibly effective for obesity and allergic rhinitis. The grape ingredients show possibly effective evidence for chronic venous insufficiency (poor circulation in the legs).
For other claims — aging skin (hyaluronic acid), osteoporosis, hyperlipidemia, and colorectal health — the evidence is insufficient or the ingredients have been rated possibly ineffective (resveratrol for cardiovascular disease and cholesterol). Talk with your pharmacist about what specific benefit you're looking for and whether the evidence matches your goal.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Chondroitin Sulfate is generally well tolerated for short-term use but safety data is limited. Common side effects include abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, and nausea.
Rare cases of liver damage have been reported. Avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding — there isn't enough safety information.
Hyaluronic Acid is generally well tolerated but long-term safety of oral supplements isn't fully studied; the safety data advises avoiding oral supplements unless your doctor advises otherwise during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Hydrolyzed Collagen Type II is generally well tolerated with rare mild side effects like nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, and gas; safety data is limited in pregnancy, so check with your doctor first, and caution is advised while breastfeeding.
Trans-Resveratrol is generally well tolerated at typical supplement doses, but high doses may cause diarrhea and digestive upset; the safety data advises avoiding concentrated supplements during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Grape ingredients are generally well tolerated, though concentrated supplements and wine should be avoided during pregnancy; little information exists on concentrated grape supplements while breastfeeding.
Rare serious effects with chondroitin and grapes include anaphylaxis to grape skin and asthma exacerbation.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications before taking this product if you're on warfarin or other blood thinners (anticoagulants) or antiplatelet drugs like aspirin — chondroitin and the resveratrol and grape ingredients may increase bleeding risk. If you take any drug metabolized by your liver's cytochrome P450 enzymes — including heart medications, blood pressure drugs, certain antidepressants, and many others — the resveratrol and grape extracts may raise drug levels and effects.
Also flag cyclosporine and midazolam specifically. Use the medication search tool below to check your exact prescriptions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glancePartially disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Collagen Enhance is built for people interested in skin health, joint support, and antioxidant benefits, but it's not for everyone. If you take warfarin, any drug processed by liver enzymes (a huge category including many heart, mood, and pain medications), blood thinners, antiplatelet drugs, cyclosporine, or midazolam, you need to check with your pharmacist before starting.
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor first — safety data is incomplete for several ingredients.

Collagen Enhance by ResVitale Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Collagen Enhance by ResVitale has moderate interactions with several medication types.
The most serious concern is chondroitin sulfate with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner — taking chondroitin may increase warfarin's blood-thinning effects and raise your INR (a measure of clotting time), though the effect of chondroitin alone is less clear than when combined with glucosamine.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Trans-resveratrol and both grape ingredients (organic French whole Red Wine Grape and certified organic Muscadine whole Red Grape) interact with multiple cytochrome P450 enzymes — these are proteins in your liver that break down many drugs. Theoretically, resveratrol and grape extracts might raise levels of drugs processed by CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP2D6, CYP2E1, and CYP3A4 enzymes, which could make those medications stronger.
The resveratrol and grapes also have antiplatelet properties and may increase bleeding risk with blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like aspirin. With cyclosporine (an immunosuppressant), grape juice can reduce absorption by up to 30%, and with midazolam (a sedative), long-term grape extract may decrease effectiveness.
Hyaluronic Acid and Hydrolyzed Collagen Type II show no known interactions in our data. We were unable to check Wildcrafted Japanese Knotweed extract, BioCell Collagen, and Resveratrol Polyphenol Complex because we hold no interaction data for these ingredients.
Alto gather, these interactions span 922 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to verify your exact prescriptions before starting this product.

For each ingredient in Collagen Enhance with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Resveratrol Polyphenol Complex
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Resveratrol may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Resveratrol seems to have antiplatelet effects.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP1A2 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP2C19 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
Resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research suggests that resveratrol inhibits CYP2E1 isoenzyme. Also, a pharmacokinetic study shows that taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days prior to taking a single dose of chlorzoxazone 250 mg increases the maximum concentration of chlorzoxazone by about 54%, the area under the curve of chlorzoxazone by about 72%, and the half-life of chlorzoxazone by about 35%. Chlorzoxazone is used as a probe drug for CYP2E1.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.
Chondroitin Sulfate
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Taking chondroitin in combination with glucosamine might increase the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. However, the effect of chondroitin alone is unclear.
There have been multiple reports of increased international normalized ratio (INR) in patients taking warfarin with glucosamine, with or without chondroitin. The lack of reports with chondroitin alone seem to suggest that the interactions occurring in these reports may have been due to glucosamine. In two individual case reports, glucosamine/chondroitin combinations were associated with a significant increase in INR in patients previously stabilized on warfarin. Additionally, 20 voluntary case reports to the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) have linked glucosamine plus chondroitin with increased INR, bruising, and bleeding in patients who were also taking warfarin. There have also been 20 additional case reports to the World Health Organization (WHO) that link glucosamine alone, without chondroitin, to increased INR in patients taking warfarin.
