Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?

In clinical trials, a small number of patients reported mild bloating, nausea, diarrhea, and unsettled stomach at a rate similar to those taking a whey-based control. One person with HIV-related cryptosporidiosis experienced nausea and vomiting.

Rarely, elevated liver function tests and decreased blood cell counts have been reported in HIV patients taking bovine colostrum for infectious diarrhea.
