What’s inside
Full disclosure
This powder has three active ingredients. Beet powder is your source of natural nitrates and betanin, a pigment that may support exercise performance and muscle soreness.
Creatine hydrochloride is a form of creatine, which helps muscles produce energy during intense activity and may support strength and athletic performance. Hydronox is the third ingredient, though we don't have detailed information on file for it.
The product also contains inactive ingredients — natural flavors, citric acid for tartness, and rebaudioside A, a sweetener.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Beet powder in this product is possibly effective for athletic performance and exercise-induced muscle soreness based on available evidence. It's rated possibly ineffective for COPD, and we don't have enough reliable evidence to rate it for dyslipidemia or cognitive function.
Creatine is possibly effective for muscle strength and athletic performance, and possibly effective for sarcopenia and cerebral creatine deficiency syndromes. It's rated possibly ineffective for Huntington disease and osteopenia.
We don't have established evidence for Hydronox.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Beet is widely eaten as food and generally well tolerated, though concentrated supplements like this powder lack long-term safety data — use caution. The most common side effect is red or dark stools, which is harmless.
Rare but serious effects from large amounts include low blood calcium and kidney damage. Creatine is generally well tolerated in healthy adults but requires caution if you have kidney problems.
Common side effects are dehydration, diarrhea, gastrointestinal upset, muscle cramps, and water retention. Rare serious effects include kidney inflammation, muscle breakdown, and blood clots.
Creatine is not recommended during pregnancy or while nursing — safety hasn't been established. There's no pregnancy or breastfeeding data on file for beet or Hydronox.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your exact medications if you take CYP3A4 substrates (Moderate interaction with beet); these include statins, many blood pressure drugs, some immunosuppressants, and certain antihistamines. Also double-check if you take blood pressure-lowering medications, since beet may lower pressure further (Minor).
If you take CYP1A2 substrates like theophylline or certain antidepressants, mention this product to your pharmacist (Minor).
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're an athlete looking to support performance and muscle recovery, beet and creatine have evidence behind them. Anyone taking medications metabolized by CYP3A4 — a common group that includes many statins, blood pressure drugs, and immunosuppressants — needs to check with their pharmacist first.
People with kidney disease, or anyone pregnant or nursing, should talk to their doctor before starting creatine.

Con-Cret + Nitric Oxide with HydroNOX Blood Orange Berry by CON-CRET Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Con-Cret + Nitric Oxide with HydroNOX Blood Orange Berry contains beet powder and creatine hydrochloride — both checked ingredients.
Beet powder carries the most serious interaction: it may increase levels of CYP3A4 substrates (a group of medications your liver breaks down) to a Moderate degree. In vitro work shows beet's main pigment, betanin, blocks the enzyme that clears these drugs, potentially raising their concentration in your blood.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Beet also theoretically decreases CYP1A2 substrates (Minor severity) and may lower blood pressure through its natural nitrates (Minor severity), though one clinical study found no significant effect on blood pressure or heart rate. Creatine hydrochloride shows no documented interactions in our data.
We could not check Hydronox — we hold no interaction data for it. Altogether, these interactions span 850 individual medications.

Beet, Powder
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that betanin, the major pigment in beet, competitively inhibits CYP3A4 in a dose-dependent manner similarly to strong CYP3A4 inhibitor ketoconazole.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Beet and beetroot contain nitrates, which can cause vasodilation, potentially leading to lower blood pressure. However, a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition using concentrated beetroot juice found no significant impact on blood pressure or heart rate in different age groups. Other small clinical studies suggest that while beet consumption might transiently lower blood pressure due to vessel dilation, there's no consistent evidence of a lasting effect. Overall, the theoretical risk of reduced blood pressure due to beet's nitrate content exists, but studies generally indicate a low and temporary impact rather than a sustained decrease.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that beet induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
