Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 2 of its 2 active ingredients.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains two active ingredients: Fadogia agrestis powder and Tongkat Ali powder. Tongkat Ali (also called Eurycoma longifolia) is a Southeast Asian plant traditionally used to support sexual function and athletic performance.

Fadogia agrestis is an African plant used in traditional medicine, though human safety and effectiveness data are very limited. The capsules also contain inactive ingredients — cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide — which are standard binders and fillers.

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed

This product doesn't appear to be marketed for a specific use, so we graded its ingredients' overall clinical evidence instead.

Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports its ingredients for:

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.
  • Since the label doesn't commit to one use, we graded the ingredients' overall clinical evidence instead.
  • On file: Sexual desire — rated "Possibly Effective" (Eurycoma Longifolia) (Natural Medicines).

The evidence for what these ingredients actually do is thin. Tongkat Ali is rated possibly effective for sexual desire — some clinical studies back that claim.

For athletic performance, though, it's rated possibly ineffective, and evidence for back pain, osteoporosis, and diabetes is insufficient. Fadogia Agrestis has insufficient evidence for athletic performance, erectile dysfunction, and malaria — meaning we don't have reliable research showing whether it works for any of these uses.

If sexual function is your goal, Tongkat Ali has the strongest evidence, but for everything else here, the science just isn't solid yet.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 2 matched ingredients.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 2 of 2.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 2 of 2.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Tongkat Ali is generally well tolerated in short-term studies, but long-term safety is unclear, and product quality can vary. Fadogia Agrestis is a bigger concern: human safety data don't exist, and animal studies hint at possible damage to the testicles, liver, and kidneys — that's why caution is warranted.

Both ingredients should be avoided in pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to lack of safety data and possible hormonal effects. There's also a theoretical risk: if Tongkat Ali raises your testosterone beyond normal levels, you could develop acne, insulin resistance, liver stress, and other testosterone-related side effects.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 2 matched ingredients can interact with medications — Eurycoma Longifolia.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 249 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before you take this product, double-check it against propranolol (Inderal) or any other beta-blocker — it's a moderate interaction that could weaken the drug's effect. Tongkat Ali may also theoretically raise levels of drugs broken down by your liver's CYP1A2, CYP2C19, and CYP2A6 systems; if you take any prescription metabolized by those pathways, verify it's safe.

And if you're on testosterone replacement or supplements, talk to your pharmacist about the risk of testosterone going too high.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

This product may interest men looking to support sexual function, where Tongkat Ali has some clinical backing. If you take propranolol or other blood pressure medications, or if you're on testosterone therapy, you need to check with your pharmacist before starting — the interactions are real.

Avoid this product if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Because Fadogia Agrestis has minimal safety data and possible organ toxicity in animals, have a detailed conversation with your pharmacist about whether the benefit is worth the unknown risks.

Propranolol (Inderal)

Eurycoma longifolia can reduce the levels and clinical effects of propranolol.
A small clinical study in healthy persons shows that taking a single dose of a water-based Eurycoma longifolia extract 200 mg, in combination with a single dose of propranolol 80 mg, reduces the propranolol area under the curve (AUC) by 29%, reduces the peak concentration by 42%, and increases time to peak concentration by 86% when compared with control. Since the elimination half-life of propranolol did not change, it seems that Eurycoma longifolia alters the kinetics of propranolol by decreasing its absorption in the gut, and not by altering its metabolism. It is not known if separating administration will prevent this interaction.

Likelihood Probable Evidence A
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP1A2 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 2A6 (Cyp2A6) Substrates

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels of CYP2A6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP2A6 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP2C19 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Testosterone

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia may further increase levels of testosterone.
A clinical study in aging males with testosterone levels below 300 ng/dL shows that taking a specific water extract of Eurycoma longifolia roots (Physta; Biotropics Malaysia) 100-200 mg daily with breakfast for 12 weeks increases total testosterone levels by 8% to 11% when compared with placebo. It is unclear whether this increase would occur in individuals with normal testosterone levels.

Fadogia Agrestis with Tongkat Ali by Dorado Nutrition: Common Questions

Does Fadogia Agrestis with Tongkat Ali by Dorado Nutrition interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Fadogia Agrestis with Tongkat Ali has a known interaction with 249 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Fadogia Agrestis with Tongkat Ali contains 2 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Both ingredients lack safety data in pregnancy and have possible hormonal effects, so the safety data advises against use in both cases. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before considering it at any point around pregnancy or while nursing.
Does this product actually improve sexual function?
Tongkat Ali is rated possibly effective for sexual desire and has some clinical studies backing that. Fadogia Agrestis, on the other hand, has insufficient evidence — we don't know if it works. So if that's what you're after, Tongkat Ali is the stronger candidate, but neither has airtight proof.
Is this safe to take long-term?
Tongkat Ali is generally tolerated short-term in studies, but long-term safety is uncertain, and product quality varies widely. Fadogia Agrestis is more concerning — there's almost no human safety data, and animal studies suggest possible toxicity to the testicles, liver, and kidneys. This isn't a supplement to take indefinitely without medical oversight.
What are the side effects I should watch for?
If Tongkat Ali raises your testosterone beyond normal, you might develop acne, insulin resistance, liver stress, and other testosterone-related effects. Fadogia Agrestis has no documented adverse effects in humans, but that's only because there's barely any human data at all — not proof it's harmless.
How many active ingredients are in this product?
There are two: Fadogia agrestis powder and Tongkat Ali powder. The rest are inactive ingredients like cellulose and magnesium stearate that help form the capsule.
Should I take this if I'm on blood pressure medication?
It depends on which one. If you take propranolol (Inderal), this product can reduce how well it works — a moderate interaction. For other blood pressure drugs, check with your pharmacist using the medication tool on this page before you start.
