Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This formula contains 3 active ingredients. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that helps retain moisture in tissues and skin.
Chondroitin sulfate is derived from cartilage and supports joint structure. Biocell Collagen Type II provides a collagen blend.
The capsules also contain rice powder, magnesium stearate, and a capsule shell as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Hyaluronic acid is possibly effective for dry eye and venous leg ulcers (slow-healing sores on the legs). For aging skin, hay fever, and sexual dysfunction, there isn't enough reliable evidence to rate how well it works.
Chondroitin sulfate is possibly effective for cataracts and osteoarthritis. For aging skin, weak bones (osteoporosis), high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), and colorectal adenomas, the evidence is insufficient to know if it helps.
We hold no effectiveness data for Biocell Collagen Type II.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate are generally well tolerated orally. With hyaluronic acid, the data notes that long-term safety of supplements isn't fully studied; some caution is advised.
Chondroitin sulfate may cause stomach upset—abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, or nausea—and rare reports of liver damage exist. Skin symptoms such as swelling of the eyelids, lower leg swelling, hair loss, rash, or hives have been reported with chondroitin, especially in combinations with glucosamine.
A rare case of asthma worsening was reported with a glucosamine-chondroitin product. We hold no safety or adverse effect data for Biocell Collagen Type II.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Blood thinners like warfarin (Coumadin) are the main concern with this product—chondroitin sulfate may increase its blood-thinning effect, raising your bleeding risk. If you take warfarin or any anticoagulant, confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this formula.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may work for dry eye or joint health concerns, though the evidence is mixed depending on which condition you're targeting. If you take warfarin or another blood thinner, you need to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting it—chondroitin may boost the thinner's effects.
Watch for stomach upset or skin reactions, and keep in mind that long-term supplement safety isn't fully established. Talk it over with your own healthcare provider to see if it's right for you.

HA Hyaluronic Acid Formula by California Natural Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
HA Hyaluronic Acid Formula by California Natural contains three active ingredients.
Through its chondroitin sulfate content, this product may interact with blood thinners (anticoagulants), specifically warfarin. The concern is moderate in severity: chondroitin combined with glucosamine might increase how much warfarin thins your blood, raising your bleeding risk.
The effect of chondroitin alone is less clear, but reports exist of increased INR (a measure of blood thinning) in patients taking warfarin with this combination.

Hyaluronic acid and Biocell Collagen Type II have no documented interactions in our data. We could not check Biocell Collagen Type II — we hold no monograph for that ingredient.
If you take warfarin or any blood thinner, check your exact medications with the search tool on this page before starting this product, and confirm with your doctor or pharmacist that it's safe to combine.

Chrondroitin Sulfate
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Taking chondroitin in combination with glucosamine might increase the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. However, the effect of chondroitin alone is unclear.
There have been multiple reports of increased international normalized ratio (INR) in patients taking warfarin with glucosamine, with or without chondroitin. The lack of reports with chondroitin alone seem to suggest that the interactions occurring in these reports may have been due to glucosamine. In two individual case reports, glucosamine/chondroitin combinations were associated with a significant increase in INR in patients previously stabilized on warfarin. Additionally, 20 voluntary case reports to the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) have linked glucosamine plus chondroitin with increased INR, bruising, and bleeding in patients who were also taking warfarin. There have also been 20 additional case reports to the World Health Organization (WHO) that link glucosamine alone, without chondroitin, to increased INR in patients taking warfarin.
