Astragalus is generally well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, though human safety data are limited. Reported adverse effects include dizziness (in one study), palpitations (with intravenous use), and rarely, rash or eczema.

Cordyceps appears generally well tolerated for up to a year, with uncommon side effects like abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, and throat discomfort — often reduced by taking it after eating. One case report linked a cordyceps-containing product to hepatitis, though it's unclear whether cordyceps or a contaminant caused it.

Poria extract is generally well tolerated in traditional use, though human data are limited; rare allergic reactions (rhinitis, asthma) have been reported. Astragalus, cordyceps, and poria extract are all advised against during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data.

In vitro and animal research suggests that cordyceps extract inhibits platelet aggregation and function. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
