CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine
Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Poria Mushroom interacts with.
Animal research shows that poria mushroom extract has sedative properties. This interaction has not been shown in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for this combination pill. The dihydrocodeine part is an opioid that can already make you sleepy, slow your breathing, and leave you feeling foggy or lightheaded. Poria mushroom showed mild sedative effects in animal studies, so the worry is simply that adding it could pile on a little extra drowsiness on top of what the dihydrocodeine causes.
I want to be honest with you: this is theoretical and has never been shown in people, so it's not something to lose sleep over. The caffeine in this product may even offset some drowsiness. Still, if you notice extra sleepiness or grogginess, ease off the poria and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine page
“Anything else that sedates you is the headline risk with this combination painkiller. Panlor and DHC Plus pair acetaminophen and caffeine with the opioid dihydrocodeine, and 78 of the 303 supplements on file, kava and even beer or wine among them, can deepen the opioid's drowsiness and, at the extreme, dangerously slow breathing.”

Poria mushroom (Fu Ling) is a fungus long used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, mainly as a mild diuretic and digestive and calming aid.
