Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Oxycodone
Oxycodone falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Poria Mushroom interacts with.
Animal research shows that poria mushroom extract has sedative properties. This interaction has not been shown in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: oxycodone is a strong opioid pain medicine that already slows down your central nervous system, causing drowsiness, slowed breathing, and that foggy, sleepy feeling. In animal studies, poria mushroom showed mild sedative (calming) effects of its own. So the theory is that pairing the two could add up, leaving you more drowsy or sluggish than oxycodone alone.
I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. This is a theoretical concern based on animal research, and it has never been shown in people. Poria is usually gentle. Still, since oxycodone is powerful and any extra sedation matters, I'd run it past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't stop or change your oxycodone on your own.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Oxycodone page
“Oxycodone is a potent opioid painkiller, and anything that deepens its sedation can slow breathing itself, which is why this list deserves genuine respect. Of the 145 supplement and herbal ingredients on record, eight rate major, and the biggest cluster by far, 78 ingredients, adds extra drowsiness on top of the opioid's own.”

About Poria Mushroom
What is Poria Mushroom?
- Fluid retention and swelling
- Digestive complaints
- Sleep and calming support
- General wellness and immune support
- Urinary support
Poria mushroom (Fu Ling) is a fungus long used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, mainly as a mild diuretic and digestive and calming aid. Modern scientific evidence in humans is very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered well tolerated, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to a lack of safety data.
About Oxycodone
What Is Oxycodone Used For?
Brand names: OxyContin, Roxicodone, OxyIR, Percolone, Oxecta, OxyNeo
Oxycodone is prescribed for pain severe enough to need daily, long-term opioid treatment — pain that hasn't responded well to non-opioid medicines or shorter-acting options. The extended-release form is designed for continuous pain control, not for occasional or as-needed use.
It is approved for adults and, in certain cases, for opioid-tolerant children 11 years and older who are already on opioid therapy. Because of the serious risks involved, it is reserved for situations where other approaches have genuinely fallen short.
