HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Lavender Capsules by b Bobica
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: dried lavender powder. Lavender is a traditional herb used for relaxation and to ease certain symptoms.
The capsule itself is made from hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, an inactive ingredient that holds the powder together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for lavender varies by what you're using it for. It's possibly effective for period pain (dysmenorrhea).
For cancer-related pain, it's possibly ineffective. For hair loss (alopecia areata), pre-procedural anxiety, and cancer-related fatigue, the evidence isn't established well enough in our data to rate it.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether lavender might help with your specific concern.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lavender in capsule form — as dried powder or in food amounts — is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects reported orally are breath odor, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, gas, headache, and nausea.
A small number of people have reported allergic skin reactions to lavender oil. Because safety data for medicinal amounts is limited, the facts advise using lavender only with your healthcare provider's approval.
Don't swallow essential oil; it's toxic. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, there isn't enough data on file to know whether this product is safe, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take CNS depressants (sedatives, sleep aids, or certain pain relievers that slow your nervous system), check your exact medications with the search tool on this page before adding lavender. Lavender may theoretically increase both the effects and side effects of these drugs.
The bottom line

Lavender Capsules by b Bobica Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Lavender Capsules by b Bobica contains one active ingredient — dried lavender powder — that has documented interactions with medications.
The main concern is with CNS depressants (drugs that slow your nervous system, like sedatives, sleep aids, and some pain relievers). Lavender may theoretically strengthen both the helpful and unwanted effects of these drugs, though clinical studies of lavender at typical doses haven't reported problems.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Altogether, these interactions span 248 individual medications.
Because lavender's sedative effects are lab-confirmed but clinical evidence at standard doses is limited, the interaction remains theoretical rather than proven in real patients. Still, if you take any CNS depressant — prescription or over-the-counter — check your exact medications with the tool on this page before you start.

Cns Depressants
Theoretically, lavender might potentiate the therapeutic effects and adverse effects of CNS depressants.
Laboratory research suggests that lavender has sedative effects. However, clinical studies in patients taking oral lavender oil (Silexan) 160 mg for 10 weeks or taking lavender flower powder 1 gram daily for 2 months have not reported side effects of drowsiness, sedation, or sleepiness. There is still some concern that higher doses or different preparations of lavender might have additive effects with CNS depressant medications.
