Max Zyme Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Max Zyme against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Max Zyme by Max Drive Nutrition
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Max Zyme is a 9-ingredient digestive enzyme formula. The active ingredients include papain and bromelain (protein-digesting enzymes from papaya and pineapple), three Lactobacillus species (probiotics that support gut bacteria), and fungal-derived enzymes: lactase (breaks down milk sugar), lipase (breaks down fat), and protease (breaks down protein).
There's also Alpha-Galactosidase, an enzyme that may help with complex carbohydrate digestion. The product is completed with inactive ingredients—cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide—which are common capsule fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for most ingredients in this blend isn't well established. Lactobacillus acidophilus shows the strongest data: it's possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Lactase is effective for lactose intolerance—that's its primary use and the one condition with solid evidence. For papain, bromelain, and the other components, the effectiveness ratings are insufficient; we don't have enough reliable evidence to say whether they work for their claimed purposes.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most ingredients are generally well tolerated at typical doses. Papain is generally tolerated as a food but may irritate the digestive tract or cause allergic reactions in sensitive people; high oral doses may be unsafe, and concentrated papain is best avoided in pregnancy due to safety concerns.
Bromelain is usually well tolerated short-term but may cause diarrhea, stomach upset, or allergic reactions; it should be avoided in pregnancy. Lactobacillus acidophilus is considered safe in healthy adults and possibly safe in pregnancy, though it carries a rare risk of infection in immunocompromised patients.
Lactase is likely safe in pregnancy and generally well tolerated. Lipase and Protease have limited pregnancy data, so medical guidance is advised.
All ingredients may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Max Zyme, double-check with your pharmacist or doctor if you take warfarin or other blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (such as aspirin or clopidogrel)—papain and bromelain may increase bleeding risk. Also confirm if you're on antibiotics, since Lactobacillus acidophilus taken at the same time may be killed off and lose effectiveness.
If you take tetracycline antibiotics, bromelain may theoretically boost their levels, though study evidence is mixed. Ask your healthcare provider to review your current medications against this product's ingredients.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Max Zyme is a digestive enzyme and probiotic blend best suited for people looking to support digestion and lactose tolerance. If you take warfarin or other blood thinners, or if you're on antibiotics, you'll want to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting—several ingredients here can interact with those medications.
Pregnant or breastfeeding people should also discuss this product with their healthcare provider first, since safety data are limited for some ingredients. Your own doctor or pharmacist can help you decide if it's right for you.

Max Zyme by Max Drive Nutrition Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Max Zyme by Max Drive Nutrition contains several ingredients with documented interactions: papain, bromelain, and Lactobacillus acidophilus.
The most serious concern is papain's Moderate interaction with warfarin (Coumadin). In one case, a patient stable on warfarin developed dangerously elevated blood thinning levels (an INR of 7.4) after taking a supplement with papain, suggesting papain might strengthen warfarin's effects.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Bromelain carries a Moderate interaction with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like aspirin, clopidogrel, and warfarin), raising bleeding risk; one case reported minor bruising when bromelain was combined with naproxen. Bromelain also has a Minor interaction with tetracycline antibiotics, though a study in healthy volunteers found no change in antibiotic levels.
Lactobacillus acidophilus has a Moderate interaction with antibiotics—taking them together may kill off the live organisms in the probiotic, reducing its effectiveness. We could not check Lactobacillus plantarum, Alpha-Galactosidase, or Lactobacillus casei; no interaction data is on file for these.
Altogether, these interactions span 306 individual medications.
Lactase (fungal), Lipase (fungal), and Protease (fungal) showed no interactions in our data. Please check your exact medications with the search tool on this page before starting.

For each ingredient in Max Zyme with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bromelain
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Bromelain may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
There is one case report of a patient experiencing minor bruising while taking bromelain with naproxen. Bromelain is thought to have antiplatelet activity. Whether this interaction is of concern with topical bromelain is unclear. Interference with coagulation of burn wounds has been reported in a patient receiving bromelain-based enzymatic debridement. However, observational research has found that topical bromelain debridement is not associated with increases or decreases in laboratory markers of coagulation when compared with surgical debridement.
Tetracycline Antibiotics
Theoretically, bromelain might increase levels of tetracycline antibiotics.
Laboratory research suggests that bromelain might increase the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics. However, a study in healthy adults reported no difference in tetracycline plasma levels when a 500 mg dose was taken with or without bromelain 80 mg.
Papain
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, papain might increase the effects and side effects of warfarin.
In one case report, a patient previously stable on warfarin was found to have an international normalization ratio (INR) of 7.4, which was attributed to ingestion of a supplement containing papain from papaya extract.
