HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Maximum Krill Omega-3 by ProCaps Laboratories
Four independent checks of what is known — a summary of the available information, not a grade of the product itself.
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
The stated purpose hasn't been mapped to our evidence data yet.
Why this rating?
- We haven't mapped this product's purpose to our evidence data yet — it'll be graded on the next content refresh.
Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.
Why this rating?
- The label discloses an exact amount for 6 of its 6 active ingredients.
- “Total Omega-3 Fatty Acids” is listed as a grouped ingredient — the label gives one combined amount (400 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.
- “Antarctic Krill Oil” is listed as a grouped ingredient — the label gives one combined amount (1,700 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.
The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.
Why this rating?
- 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Astaxanthin.
- The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
- For scale: 672 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.
Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.
Why this rating?
- We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
- General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
- Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.
HelloPharmacist summaryFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Assessment coverage: 1 of 6 active ingredients matched to our full ingredient reviews (monographs). Based on the product label dated Mar 25, 2014.

UNSURPASSED. Purity. Quality. Integrity. Effectiveness. Andrew Lessman Founder of ProCaps Labs
Andrew Lessman’s Maximum Krill Omega-3 provides high levels of Omega 3s from Krill Oil, but does so without Krill Oil’s normally unpleasant fishy aftertaste. Antarctic Krill are tiny, shrimp-like creatures that live in the oceans near Antarctica and represent one of the most abundant life forms on the planet. Krill Oil provides a moderate-potency source of the key Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, but in a uniquely distinctive phospholipid form. Another bonus: Krill Oil’s rich reddish color comes from the presence of trace amounts of the protective carotenoid Astaxanthin. It is well established that Omega-3s are essential for our good health, yet they cannot be made by the body, so their benefits are only available from a diet rich in cold water fish or by using an Omega-3 formula like Maximum Krill Omega-3. Research has shown that diets rich in Omega-3s are associated with superior heart, brain, circulatory and general health; yet sadly, the American diet delivers alarmingly low levels of these precious fatty acids. Our Maximum Krill Omega-3 provides a unique alternative to fish oil based Omega-3s, delivering higher levels of Omega-3s per capsule than other Krill Oil products.
Formulation
Like all ProCaps’ fish oil Omega-3 formulas, our Maximum Krill Omega-3 also allows you to enjoy all the benefits of an Omega-3 formula with NO mercury, NO contaminants, NO stomach upset and NO unpleasant fishy aftertaste.
CONTAINS NO Milk, soy, yeast, corn, wheat, gluten, sodium, salt, sugar, color, preservative or manufacturing additive. CONTAINS NO ADDITIVES OF ANY KIND.

For each ingredient in Maximum Krill Omega-3 with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Antarctic Krill Oil
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, krill oil may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Taking high doses of omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil can modestly decrease platelet aggregation. Since krill oil also contains these fatty acids, taking high doses of krill oil might also inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, taking high doses of krill oil with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bleeding. However, the omega-3 content of krill oil is much lower than that of fish oil.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking krill oil with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some research in animals and humans shows that krill oil might lower blood glucose levels. However, a small study shows that taking krill oil does not reduce blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, most of whom were taking antidiabetes drugs.
