Organ Complex Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by BodyHealth
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Organ Complex against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Organ Complex by BodyHealth
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
BodyHealth's Organ Complex contains 6 active ingredients: beef liver, heart, pancreas, spleen, kidney, and adrenal tissue — all glandular and organ extracts. The product also includes three inactive ingredients: L-leucine, grass-fed beef collagen, and gelatin (the capsule material).
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't have established effectiveness ratings in our data for most of what's in this product. For beef liver, the evidence suggests it's possibly ineffective for chronic fatigue syndrome, and there isn't enough reliable evidence to rate it for hepatitis C.
The safety and effectiveness of the other organ extracts — heart, pancreas, spleen, kidney, and adrenal — aren't established in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Beef liver is generally well tolerated in food amounts, but this product can deliver high levels of vitamin A and iron, both of which matter. Very high vitamin A may harm a developing baby, so pregnancy is a concern — talk with your doctor before using if you're pregnant or planning to be.
There's also a quality issue: liver extract comes from raw animal liver at slaughterhouses, possibly from sick or diseased animals. There's a theoretical concern about contamination with BSE (mad cow disease) if the liver comes from certain countries where BSE has been reported, though no cases of human BSE from liver extract have been documented.
A thorough safety evaluation hasn't been done, so check with your doctor before starting.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
Check with your pharmacist before starting if you take warfarin (Coumadin) or any iron supplements or iron-containing medications. The beef liver in this product can affect how both work.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This is an organ-extract blend with limited evidence for most of its ingredients. If you take warfarin or iron supplements, you'll want to run this past your pharmacist first.
Pregnant women should talk with their doctor because of the vitamin A content. For everyone else, the main caution is sourcing — make sure you know where the organs came from.

Organ Complex by BodyHealth Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
BodyHealth's Organ Complex contains beef liver, which has documented interactions with a small number of medications.
The main concern is warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner — beef liver contains variable amounts of vitamin K, which can theoretically reduce warfarin's effectiveness and lower your INR if you start, stop, or significantly change how much you take. This hasn't been directly studied in humans, so the real-world risk is unclear.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Beef liver also contains heme iron, a form of iron your body absorbs easily. If you're already taking iron supplements or iron-containing medications, adding this product could push your total iron intake higher and raise your risk of stomach upset or iron overload — especially if you have hemochromatosis or another condition that makes you store too much iron.
The risk is greater with high doses or long-term use.
We couldn't check the other five ingredients in this product — Heart, Pancreas, Spleen, Kidney, and Adrenal — because we hold no interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 3 individual medications.
Use the medication checker below to look up your exact drugs before you start.

For each ingredient in Organ Complex with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Beef Liver
Iron
Liver extract can contain heme iron. Taking liver extract with iron-containing medications or supplements may increase total iron intake and could increase the risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects or excessive iron accumulation. The risk is greater with high doses, prolonged use, or in individuals with hemochromatosis or another iron-overload disorder. Review the iron content of the liver extract and the total elemental iron dose. Avoid unnecessary duplicate iron supplementation and consider monitoring ferritin and transferrin saturation when clinically appropriate.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Liver extract products may contain small and variable amounts of vitamin K. Theoretically, starting, stopping, or substantially changing the amount of liver extract used could reduce the anticoagulant effect of warfarin and lower the INR. However, this interaction has not been directly studied or reported in humans, and the vitamin K content of liver extract products is generally not standardized. Consider monitoring the INR after a meaningful change in liver extract use.
