What’s inside
Full disclosure
This powder contains a single active ingredient: lion's mane mushroom extract (both fruiting body and mycelium). There are no other inactive ingredients listed.
Lion's mane is a fungal extract that's been used traditionally and is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for lion's mane isn't established in our data. We hold insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for Alzheimer disease, anxiety, athletic performance, cancer, general cognitive function, or cognitive impairment.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work—it means the studies we have aren't robust enough yet to make a confident claim either way.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Orally, lion's mane is generally well tolerated as a food, though long-term supplement safety hasn't been well studied. The most common side effects in reports are gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, and skin rash.
However, there isn't enough safety data to recommend it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding—talk to your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance if either applies to you.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before using this product, double-check your medications if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel, and others)—lion's mane may increase bleeding risk. Also flag it with your pharmacist if you're on diabetes medications or drugs that suppress your immune system, as the mushroom may interfere with how they work.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
Lion's mane may interest you if you're exploring mushroom supplements for cognitive support, but the evidence isn't strong yet. Be especially cautious if you take blood thinners, diabetes medications, or immune suppressants—those need a careful check first.
Run your exact medications through the tool on this page, and ask your pharmacist before you start.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Micro Ingredients' Organic Lion's Mane Powder contains one active ingredient—lion's mane mushroom extract—which interacts with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (medications that reduce clotting). Lion's mane may increase bleeding risk when used together, because lab research shows it can slow down how platelets clump together.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
There are also Moderate-severity interactions with diabetes medications and immune-suppressing drugs. With diabetes medications, lion's mane may add to their blood-sugar-lowering effect—animal research suggests the mushroom itself can lower glucose levels.
With immune suppressants, the mushroom's polysaccharides may stimulate immunity in ways that could work against the medication's intended effect.
Additionally, if you're on any of these medication types, use the interaction checker on this page to look up your exact drugs before you start.
