PanXyme pH contains three active digestive enzymes. Protease breaks down proteins, lipase breaks down fats, and amylase breaks down carbohydrates — together they're meant to help your body digest food.

Lipase carries an important caution: it should only be used under medical guidance if you have serious digestive conditions.
No adverse effects have been reported in adults for lipase in supplement form, though a full safety evaluation hasn't been done. During pregnancy, protease is best avoided unless prescribed, and there isn't enough safety data on supplemental lipase or protease during breastfeeding — talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you're pregnant or nursing.
Do not use in premature infants, as recombinant lipase products have caused serious gastrointestinal problems in that population.

PanXyme pH is a blend of digestive enzymes derived from the fermentation action of fungi such as Aspergillus niger and Rhizopus niveus, microorganisms safely used in fermenting foods, including cheese, soy sauce, and yogurt. These nonanimal-derived enzymes support the assimilation of nutrients in foods and the digestion of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and vegetable matter.
