Moderate evidence
Phosphatidylserine is possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease, according to the evidence we hold. For athletic performance, ADHD, general cognitive function, and dementia, there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to rate how well it works.

Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety hasn't been fully established. The most common side effects are flatulence, stomach upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea — and insomnia is more likely at higher doses (around 600 mg).
Stomach upset can happen at doses of 200–300 mg per day. There isn't enough safety information to recommend this product during pregnancy, so it's best to avoid it if you're pregnant.
