Probiotics are beneficial bacteria meant to support your gut; prebiotics are fibers that feed those bacteria.
The product also contains inactive ingredients: potato starch, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, and ascorbic acid.

The evidence for this product's ingredients varies. Inulin is possibly effective for constipation, diabetes, and obesity based on our data.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and respiratory tract infections. The remaining ingredients — the other probiotic strains, FOS, and the prebiotic blend — have insufficient reliable evidence to rate for most conditions we hold data on, including antibiotic-associated diarrhea, hay fever, asthma, and anxiety.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
FOS and inulin are generally well tolerated but can cause gas, bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, and cramping — especially at higher doses. Clinical trials show these side effects are typically mild at doses under 10 grams per day of FOS, though a meta-analysis found no increase in these symptoms compared to placebo even at doses up to 15 grams daily.
Bifidobacterium longum and Bifidobacterium bifidum are generally well tolerated in healthy people, though caution is advised for anyone who is seriously ill or immune-compromised, as rare cases of bacteremia (infection in the bloodstream) have occurred in critically ill patients. Pregnancy and lactation safety: inulin is likely safe in pregnancy and lactation; Bifidobacterium longum is possibly safe; Bifidobacterium bifidum has no safety data on file for pregnancy or lactation, so check with your doctor.

Acacia Gum
Amoxicillin (Amoxil, Trimox)
Gum arabic can reduce the absorption of amoxicillin.
A small study in healthy volunteers shows that taking amoxicillin and gum arabic concurrently significantly reduces the absorption of amoxicillin. Separate doses of amoxicillin from gum arabic by at least 2 hours.

Gum arabic has been used as a suspending osmotic agent in drug formulations. It might improve bioavailability of water-insoluble drugs like naproxen, but reduce absorption of polar drugs like amoxicillin. To avoid changes in absorption, take gum arabic 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bifidobacterium bifidum NI311
Antibiotic Drugs

Theoretically, inulin might increase the risk of hypoglycemia with antidiabetes drugs.
Some clinical research shows that inulin improves glycemic control in patients with diabetes; however, it is unclear if it has hypoglycemic effects.
