HelloPharmacist Scorecard of ProDentim Max by Justified Laboratories
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
ProDentim Max contains 6 active ingredients, most of them probiotic bacteria (live microorganisms that support gut health). You get Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-14, Lactobacillus plantarum LP-115, Lactobacillus paracasei LPC-37, and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis Bl-04 — each chosen for their role in supporting your oral and digestive health.
The blend also includes Fructooligosaccharides, a type of fiber that feeds beneficial bacteria in your gut, and Marine Polysaccharide Complex, a marine-derived ingredient. The capsule itself is filled with inactive ingredients like cellulose, rice maltodextrin, and L-leucine — these are fillers and binders that hold the supplement together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for most of the bacteria in this product isn't well established in our data. However, Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-14 is rated Possibly Effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea (loose stools after taking antibiotics), and bacterial vaginosis.
Fructooligosaccharides, the prebiotic fiber in the product, has Insufficient Reliable Evidence in our data for osteoporosis, constipation, diabetes, travelers' diarrhea, or high cholesterol — meaning we don't have enough solid research yet to say whether it works for those conditions.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Most people who take probiotics experience no problems, though a small number report mild gastrointestinal side effects like stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, or diarrhea — these are uncommon.
In rare cases, live probiotic bacteria can cause serious infections (like bacteremia or sepsis), but this typically happens only in people with weakened immune systems or critical illness. Fructooligosaccharides commonly cause gas and bloating, especially at higher doses, though research shows these symptoms may not be as common as once thought.
The supplement-level doses of FructooligosaccharidesFructooligosaccharides haven't been thoroughly studied, so talk with your doctor before use. For the other ingredients — Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus paracasei, Marine Polysaccharide Complex, and Bifidobacterium animalis — we don't have safety data on file.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotics, separate them from this supplement by several hours — the antibiotic can kill the live bacteria in ProDentim Max and make it less effective. Check your exact medications with the tool on this page before you start.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
ProDentim Max may help if you have IBS, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or bacterial vaginosis — thanks mainly to its Lactobacillus acidophilus content. Be careful if you take antibiotics regularly; separate your doses by several hours.
Talk with your pharmacist before starting, especially if you have a weakened immune system or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
