Psoriasis Formula Powder Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by TerraVita Premium Collection
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Psoriasis Formula Powder against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This powder contains 2 active ingredients: mullein and American saffron (safflower). Mullein is a traditional herb for respiratory complaints, and safflower flower has been used historically for various conditions.
There are no inactive ingredients listed for this product.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence supporting this formula is limited. For mullein, our data shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for bronchitis, asthma, cough, migraine headache, or diarrhea.
Safflower similarly lacks sufficient evidence for unstable angina, coronary heart disease, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, or diabetic nephropathy. Because effectiveness hasn't been established in the data we hold, talk with your doctor about whether this product is right for what you're hoping to treat.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Mullein is generally well tolerated for short-term use, though human safety data are limited. A small number of case reports describe dermatitis from topical contact with the whole plant or inhalation of plant dust.
Safflower oil in food doses is generally well tolerated, but concentrated extracts and high-dose supplements have less safety data. There are at least 7 case reports of acute liver failure probably linked to over-use of safflower oil for weight loss, though the exact dose or duration that caused harm isn't clear.
During pregnancy, mullein safety data advise against it. Safflower flower is likely unsafe in medicinal amounts during pregnancy because it has traditionally been used to bring on menstruation.
For breastfeeding, there isn't enough data on mullein to know either way, and while safflower in normal food amounts is fine, medicinal amounts are best avoided until more is known. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is appropriate for you if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your blood thinners (anticoagulants) and warfarin before taking this — safflower carries Moderate risk of increased bleeding, and mullein shows mild blood-thinning effects. Also double-check diabetes medications (Moderate risk) and any antiplatelet drugs like aspirin with your doctor or pharmacist first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is aimed at psoriasis but lacks established effectiveness data for that or its other listed uses. The main concern is its blood-thinning potential — especially if you take anticoagulants (blood thinners), diabetes medications, or warfarin.
If you take any of those or other prescription drugs, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting it.

Psoriasis Formula Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
TerraVita Premium Collection Psoriasis Formula Powder interacts with medications through its mullein and American saffron (safflower) content.
The most serious interaction is with blood thinners (anticoagulants): safflower at high doses carries a Moderate risk of increased bleeding, shown in clinical studies and a case report of a patient on warfarin who developed urinary tract bleeding after taking safflower extract. Mullein also has mild blood-thinning effects documented in lab studies.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Safflower carries additional Moderate interactions with diabetes medications and warfarin specifically. The safflower-diabetes interaction is theoretically concerning because some research shows it can raise fasting blood sugar in type 2 diabetes patients, though other studies show mixed results depending on dose and patient population.
Altogether, these interactions span 208 individual medications.
Mullein is the only other ingredient in this blend with documented interactions — it shows a Minor interaction with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs due to mild blood-thinning constituents. Before you start this product, run your exact medications — especially blood thinners, diabetes drugs, and warfarin — through the checker below with your doctor or pharmacist.

For each ingredient in Psoriasis Formula Powder with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
American Saffron, Powder
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
High doses of safflower oil might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Small clinical studies show that taking safflower oil, approximately 55 grams daily for 2-3 weeks, decreases platelet aggregation. However, taking lower doses of safflower oil, such as 5 grams daily for 4 weeks, does not seem to affect platelet function. In one case report, a 74-year-old male stabilized on warfarin developed urinary tract bleeding and an elevated INR after taking a safflower extract 20 grams daily for 14 days.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, safflower oil might alter the effects of antidiabetes drugs.
Some clinical research shows that taking safflower oil 10 grams daily for 3 weeks can increase fasting blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes. However, clinical research in patients with metabolic syndrome with or without impaired glucose tolerance shows that taking safflower oil 8 grams daily for 12 weeks reduces fasting glucose levels by around 8 mg/dL. Some clinical research also shows that taking safflower oil 8 grams daily for 16 weeks does not affect fasting glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Warfarin
Theoretically, safflower oil might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with warfarin.
In one case report, a 74-year-old male stabilized on warfarin developed urinary tract bleeding and an elevated INR after taking a safflower extract 20 grams daily for 14 days.
Mullein, Powder
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Lab tests on extracts from different parts of common and dense-flowered mullein plants show that they do have some blood-thinning effects, as they increase the time it takes for blood to clot. This is likely due to at least one of the known constituents of muellein, triterpenoid saponins. However, the effects appear to be mild and results have been inconsistent. Extracts from different plant parts have been show to have varying anticoagulant strengths, with water-based ones being more potent than alcohol-based extracts.
